Victoria from Twilight

Victoria is a character from the Twilight saga. We are first introduced to her at the baseball game: a vampire in James’ coven and his mate. When the Cullens killed James, Victoria vows revenge and sets out to kill Bella Swan. In the sequels, she creates an army of newborns to go after the Olympic coven. For the first time in history, vampires and werewolves work together to bring Victoria down. Her plan backfires, and she is killed by Edward and werewolf Seth Clearwater. Her personality was described as calculating and sinister, in which she used her beauty and innocent voice to lure in victims. Her power was enhanced self-preservation meaning she could easily escape from danger. Rachel Lefevre plays Victoria in the first two movies, yet the role was recast for Bryce Dallas Howard in the third.

Marvel's Betty Ross

Betty Ross

Comics are almost infamous for giving one character so many variations that it can be hard to keep up and Betty Ross is no exception to the rule. Originally created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, she has become The Harpy and Red She-Hulk in multiple timelines and runs. Liv Tyler and Jennifer have both played her on the big screen, bringing to life the scientist Betty began her time as in Marvel. All the differences can make it hard to pick just one, but they have a few factors in common that makes it easier to choose!

If you’re going for Betty’s human look, the cosplay is pretty straightforward and uses pieces that you can either pull from your closet or reuse in other costumes. Start with a brown wig, then grab a button down shirt, a pair of jeans, and some heeled boots. You can also finish off the look with a white lab coat.

Red She-Hulk takes a different route. You’ll have to start with red body paint and a black wig with a red streak clipped in. The costume itself is a black zip up top, black pants, and the same black boots a before. There aren’t a lot of pieces but the red paint will take time to apply. Finish off her look with black lipstick and you are the mighty Red She-Hulk.

Emmett Cullen in the Baseball Scene from Twilight

Emmett Cullen is a supporting character in the Twilight saga. After nearly getting mauled by a bear, Carlisle Cullen turned him into a vampire to save his life. This was at the request of Rosalie Hale, who had fallen in love him. Eventually Emmett and Rosalie became husband and wife, and she goes by the surname Hale to act as a couple in public. Like his siblings, he poses as human by attending Forks High School. He is the strongest of the bunch, only rivaled by Bella when she becomes a vampire. He is more carefree and playful than his siblings, especially in the iconic baseball scene, where he plays in the outfield. Kellan Lutz portrays Emmett in the movie adaptations.

Sonny Corleone from The Godfather

Sonny Corleone from The Godfather

Santino “Sonny” Corleone (played by James Caan) might not be the most patient of men. But he is among the most loyal. Even to his death his first priority was to his family.

To get Sonny’s look you’ll need A white button down, white tank top, suspenders, and a light blue tie. A grey suit and black shoes give you Sonny’s final look. And of course Sonny wouldn’t be Sonny without the cross around his neck.

Dr. Carlisle Cullen

Dr. Carlisle Cullen is a character in the Twilight saga. Born in London around 1640, he is the founder and leader of the Olympic coven, which consists of the Cullen family. He is the adoptive father of Alice, Jasper, Emmett, Rosalie, and Edward, as well as the husband of Esme. Despite being a vampire, Carlisle always shows mercy and understanding. His compassion for humankind allowed him to adopt a “vegetarian” diet, as well as maintain a career in the medical field. In fact, Edward had been his patient, and due to a case of fatal influenza, he turned him into a vampire. He is the resident doctor in Forks, Washington, and tends to Bella after the truck accident. Peter Facinelli plays Carlisle in the movies.

Mother Gothel from Tangled

Mother Gothel from Tangled

Mother Gothel (voiced by Donna Murphy) will do anything to get her hands on that magic flower. Including raising the princess whose hair holds that power. Okay, ‘raising’ is a bit of a stretch when Rapunzel lives her life locked in a tower. But that’s enough for Mother Gothel so long as she has access the power she needs.

Gothel’s magic might be complex but her costume is pretty straightforward. A long curly black wig and burgundy velvet gown make up the brunt of her costume. All you need after that is a black cloak, black shoes, and a brown cord belt. Finally, a basket with an ornate brush and comb set make for the perfect accessories.

Mrs. Weasley

Mrs. Molly Weasley is a character in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. She is a pureblood wizard and the wife of Arthur Weasley. Together they have a grand total of seven children: Bill, Charlie, Percy, twins Fred and George, Ron, and Ginny. She acts like a mother towards Harry, warmly accepting him into their home and into the family. Molly is incredibly protective of her children — she defeated Bellatrix Lestrange when she tried to harm her daughter. On the other hand, she will scold her children for their imprudent behavior, such as the Howler sent to Ron after he stole the flying car. Julie Waters portrays her in the movie adaptation.

Holland March from The Nice Guys

He’s not the best P.I. out there. And, okay, he might not get the job done. But when it really matters, Holland March (played by Ryan Gosling) puts his all into the job. Even if that means cozying up to the guy hired to beat him up and keep him from asking questions.

Typical of a suave guy in the ’70s, March is prone to bright colors. A bright blue suit with a light patterned undershirt and a coordinating tie are his go-to work look. Add in a gold watch, a gold pinky ring, and a trim goatee and you’ve got an essential ’70s vibe. After that all you need to finish off the look is a brown leather belt and a pair of shoes to match. And, of course, March’s cigarette (go for a fake one).

Axel Foley from Beverly Hills Cop

Axel Foley from Beverly Hills Cop

Eddie Murphy has been a household name for decades. And one of the roles that cemented his status was Axel Foley in 1984’s Beverly Hills Cop. Murphy brought his usual charm and charisma to a character who could have easily been made bitter by everything he has to face. But when justice for his friend on the line, Murphy’s humor just keeps Foley going and made viewers everywhere root for him.

Because Foley knows his job is an active one, he tends to keep things casual. A pair of trainers, jeans, a grey pullover sweatshirt, a letterman’s jacket, watch, and a pair of sunglasses make up the bulk of his look. For Foley’s jacket you can either go for a generic Letterman’s coat or you can get a replica, depending on the investment you want to make. Then grab your badge, gun, and holster and you’re ready to solve your own case!
