Luz Noceda’s Grom Outfit from The Owl House
The Owl House is set in a magical, fantastical world. And prom – I mean Grom – is no exception. Instead of loud music and the fanciest dresses the kids have ever worn, though, the students of the Boiling Isles have a terrible monster to contend with. And, of course, their worst nightmares. Thankfully Amity and Luz don’t have to go through it alone!
Luz (voiced by Sarah-Nicole Robles) rocks a Grom outfit as unique as she is. Thankfully you don’t need to know magic to put together a cosplay of the look!
Start with a short, dark wig and add in some clip-on earrings. A white bow tie, white button up shirt, and black tuxedo jacket get the look started. Luz’s jacket has blue lapels and cuffs which is a hard detail to find pre-made. But some blue fabric paint will copy the look nicely.
Finish off her outfit with some blue leggings, a pink tutu, and black boots. Voila, you’re all set for your own spooky Grom night fun!
Akashi from The Tatami Galaxy
Akashi is an engineering college student, and is a rational girl. Her personality can be stand-offish at times. She occasionally shows friendliness to Protagonist, but won’t hold back on calling him an “idiot”. The only thing she is afraid of is moths. Akashi and Protagonist make the most of college in The Tatami Galaxy (Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei).
Morbius
Morbius the Living Vampire is a villain in the Marvel comics, specifically the antagonist of Spider-Man. Once known as Dr. Michael Morbius, he obtained vampiric abilities after a biochemical experiment went wrong. It was supposed to cure his rare blood disease, but instead it turned him into a psuedo-vampire with a craving for human blood. His other abilities include flight, hypnosis, and accelerated healing. Jared Leto is slated to play the role in his upcoming live-action movie. Sew or glue on the red ribbon to create the trim on the neckline. Use a pair of scissors to cut down the center of the bodysuit as well as to create the pointed edges of the cape.
Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell
Sam Fisher (voiced by Michael Ironside in nearly every iteration including Conviction) is the protagonist of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell series. A decorated Navy SEAL, former CIA operative, and member of the Third Eschelon within the NSA, Sam is a formidable and deadly opponent; not someone you want to come up against in the field. In the original Splinter Cell, Sam wears camouflage pants and a tactical vest, as well as green night-vision goggles in order to complete the parameters of his mission.
Lola from Kinky Boots
Lola is the lead character of the musical Kinky Boots. She’s a witty, headstrong drag queen who loves expressing herself. She headlines her own show, singing “Land of Lola” with her backup dancers called the “angels.” She teams up with shoemaker Charlie Price to make shoes for drag queens, aka “kinky boots.” She teaches the factory workers to tolerate others, even if they’re different, and embrace their best selves. Billy Porter played Lola first on Broadway. Celebrities such as comedian Wayne Brady and choreographer Todrick Hall have also stepped into the role — or should we say, stepped into the kinky boots!

Iruma from Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun
Iruma Suzuki (Laura Stahl / Ayumu Murase) walks a fine line between being an adorable sweetheart and the consummate doormat. He’ll do anything to help a person in want or need, if they do so much as say “please.” So when the demon Lord Sullivan asks him to become his adopted grandson (and Iruma’s extremely irresponsible parents don’t object), naturally, young Iruma couldn’t refuse! Plot twist: Sullivan is also the principal of the underworld’s local demon school, where human-eating demons with no concept of friendship will have their first “taste” of human companionship … if they can figure Iruma out!
Mysterio from Spider-Man: Far From Home
Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, is the main antagonist in the live action Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Far From Home. His power involves creating elaborate illusions that frame him as an admirable superhero. His goal is to obtain E.D.I.T.H, the artificial intelligence created by Tony Stark, to increase the scale of his illusions. He accomplishes this by tricking Peter Parker, preying on his grief to earn his trust. In the mid-credits scene, as Mysterio is dying, he reveals Spider-Man’s identity to the world. Use the silver spray paint on the globe to make his helmet.
Death the Kid
Death the Kid, or just “Kid,” is a main character in the anime Soul Eater. He is the son of Death and a top fighter at the Death Weapon Meister Academy. As a meister, his two weapons are the Demon Twin Guns, Liz and Patty Thompson. After his father dies, he inherits his position as leader and headmaster of the academy. He takes pride in his title as the new Shinigami, but he is very uptight. He is obsessed with symmetry, so you’ll need two guns and two rings, one for each finger!
Velvet from Hazbin Hotel
Velvet is an energetic demon overlord in the web cartoon Hazbin Hotel. Velvet is part of the Three V’s along with Vox and Valentino, and she is always up on the latest trends and technology. Velvet’s look is very much in line with the gothic lolita aesthetic and could be a fun opportunity to recycle an old Queen of Hearts costume if you happen to have one from a previous outing, while putting a new spin on the look.
