Big Jack Horner from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

Big Jack Horner (voice by John Mulaney) is the primary antagonist of the animated film Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.  Formerly Little Jack Horner, he is a crime lord and pastry chef with a grudge, intent on harvesting all the world’s magic.  Big Jack Horner has short pink hair and wears a purple overcoat and vest, as well as a pink tie.  He finishes his outfit with brown pants and black boots.  Jack has a stain on his right thumb from pushing it into pies.  You can recreate this effect with some lip stain to tinge your thumb a berry color.

Momiji Sohma from Fruits Basket

Momiji (voiced in Japanese by Megumi Han and in English by Mikaela Krantz) is one of the secondary main characters in the anime/manga Fruits Basket.

He is the rabbit out of the Sohma family zodiacs, and is often mistaken for being much younger than he is, despite being only a year younger than Tohru. Momiji is usually seen as a very cheerful person, but he, like a lot of the other Sohmas, has a rough family history.

He has short, fluffy blonde hair, golden brown eyes, and wears small stud earrings as an accessory. Momiji is also usually seen in the school uniform, but he chooses to wear the girl’s shirt portion, and a pair of black shorts, instead of the boy’s. He also wears a pair of white knee high socks, and light brown loafers.

Beam from Chainsaw Man

Beam is a character in the best selling manga and hit anime, Chainsaw Man. Illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the series was serialized in Shonen Jump for two years with new chapters bi-weekly. Chainsaw Man takes place in a world where devils are born from fears. Like Power, Beam is a fiend, specifically the Shark Fiend. Energetic yet naive, Beam is unwaveringly loyal to Denji/Chainsaw Man. He goes along with Denji’s plans and will do anything to protect him. Talk about an amazing friend! He usually is depicted without a shirt, but this guide includes a fitting shark pattern button down.

Shigure Sohma from Fruits Basket

Shigure (voiced in Japanese by Yuichi Nakamura and in English by John Murgmeier) is one of the main characters of the anime/manga Fruits Basket.

He is one of the older members of the cursed zodiacs of the Sohma family, and is specifically the dog. He works as a writer, publishing both novels under his name, and romance novels under a pen name. Tohru, Kyo, and Yuki all live in the house that he owns, and he shares the same drive to break the curse as Tohru does, but for slightly selfish reasons.

Shigure has short, grey hair, parted in the center, and similarly colored eyes. Unlike the others, he usually dresses in more traditional clothing, often shown in a dark green kimono with a lighter colored obi. When wearing this, he usually isn’t shown wearing shoes, but he does have traditional sandals in a similar one, so if you need footwear for con, I’ve included them for ease.

Dr. Phillips from Watchmen

Mr. Phillips is a character in HBO’s Watchmen, or more specifically, a race of identical male clones created by Doctor Manhattan. Paired with the identical female clones of Ms. Crookshanks, they represent the Adam and Eve of Doctor Manhattan’s new world. The sole motive of the clones is to help others. Later on, they turn to serve Adrian Veidt. Mr. Phillips has multiple outfits with Ms. Crookshanks. This guide shows his medical wear.

Kazuki Kurusu from Buddy Daddies

Kazuki (voiced in Japanese by Toshiyuki Toyonaga and in English by Landon McDonald) is one of the main characters in the anime Buddy Daddies.

He works as an assassin with his partner Rei, and the rest of the time works together (finally) with him to take care of their recently acquired daughter, Miri. He’s usually the housekeeper and cook out of the two.

Kazuki has fluffy golden blonde hair and orangey-brown eyes. He wears a white t-shirt underneath a red hoodie with yellow detailing, topped with a green trenchcoat with shoulder patches. He has a pair of standard blue jeans, a tan belt holding them up, and a pair of black and tan boots with red laces.

kakihara from ichi the killer

Kakihara from Ichi the Killer

Kakihara (played by Tadanobu Asano) is the sadistic yakuza enforcer who meets his match in Ichi the Killer.  Kakihara has distinctive scars on his face, which you’ll need molding wax to replicate.  He wears a couple of outlandish outfits throughout the film, though the embellished shirt and iridescent pants he wears in his final showdown with Ichi is certainly one of the most striking.  To recreate his costume, you may need to be a little flexible, as finding a holographic purple suit and sequin-embellished dress shirt can be difficult.  A rose-gold button-down with a shimmery gold floral pattern will fill in nicely, and you can either choose to focus on the colors of Kakihara’s suit or the holographic quality, depending on your preference.

Carle Nargle from Paint

Carl Nargle from Paint

In Paint, Carl Nargle (Owen Wilson) is a soft-spoken artist teaching viewers how to paint on public television. His calming voice, majestic perm, and oil landscapes bring to mind beloved TV host Bob Ross of PBS’s The Joy of Painting fame.

Shout from The Fresh Beat Band

Shout (Thomas Hobson) is a character in the Nickelodeon series, The Fresh Beat Band. He is the keyboardist for the titular band. Shout has a ton of energy and excitement, though he’s also very intelligent. His catchphrase is “Cool beans!” As seen with his outfit, his favorite color is orange.

Miya Chinen from Sk8 the Infinity

Miya (voiced in Japanese by Takuma Nagatsuka and in English by Ry McKeand) is one of the main cast members of the anime Sk8 the Infinity.

He is one of the younger members of ‘S’ but is very well known in the circle for his talent. Miya does skating competitions, training to move forward with it professionally with the help of his manager. Aside from skateboarding, he also enjoys playing video games.

Miya has fluffy black hair with two ahoges, and vibrant green eyes. His outfit is very cat themed, with a striped shirt underneath a bright green and blue hoodie with cat ears, eyes, and a tail attached. He wears a pair of gloves while he skates, black sport shorts, blue socks with orange stripes on them, and yellow and white shoes with blue stripes. Miya’s skateboard is black with a purple X on the top, and a cat/game motif across the bottom.
