Grace Sampson from Jupiter’s Legacy
Grace Sampson (played by Leslie Bibb) is also known as the superhero Lady Liberty in the Netflix series Jupiter’s Legacy. Grace is a powerful superhero in her own right, fighting alongside her husband Sheldon and son Brandon, though her daughter Chloe has chosen a life outside the realm of heroism. Lady Liberty’s costume consists of a blue and teal bodysuit with white gloves and boots. A high collar helps set her cape apart from many other superhero looks, and though it might not be possible to find her exact gold hardware, a bib necklace worn over the cape’s collar can help recreate the appearance of Lady Liberty’s signature winged crest.
Wasp
Wasp is a character in the Marvel universe. Her real name is Hope Van Dyne, daughter of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. She has a strained relationship with her father, but when Scott Lang enters the picture, she must help them both. Hope is resourceful about the quantum realm as well as skilled in fighting techniques. These traits allow her to embody Wasp, and she teams up with Scott as Ant-Man in the second film. In addition to shrinking and growing, her abilities include flight and energy blasters. Evangeline Lily portrays this role in both installments.
Princess Yue
Princess Yue is a character in Avatar: The Last Airbender. She was the sixteen year old princess of the Northern Water Tribe. When the Avatar crew arrive at the North Pole, Sokka becomes smitten with her beauty. The two pursued a romantic relationship despite her betrothal to a Northern warrior named Hahn. When Admiral Zhao tries to conquer the kingdom, Yue led Aang and Katara to the Spirits Oasis so he could enter the Spirit World. Kissing Sokka goodbye, she sacrificed herself to the Moon Spirit to stop Zhao from rendering all waterbenders powerless. Sokka never forgot Yue, and she returned in her spirit form to help Aang reconnect with his past lives.
Mary from The Muppets
Mary (played by Amy Adams) is the girlfriend of Gary in The Muppets. An elementary school teacher and a capable mechanic, Mary helps Gary’s Muppet brother Walter save the Muppet Theatre. Mary wears many colorful, vintage-inspired outfits throughout the film. When in doubt, reach for bold, bright colors in silhouettes inspired by the 1950s.
Kate Bush in “Wuthering Heights”
In the “Wuthering Heights” music video, English singer-songwriter Kate Bush is seen dancing out in the wild windy moors, adorned with flowers and a flowy red dress. This look has been recreated countless times for pop culture and holidays, including Halloween and The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever, held annually around the world.
Kendra Wilson from PAW Patrol: The Movie
In PAW Patrol: The Movie, Kendra Wilson (voiced by Yara Shahidi) is a scientist and the creator of Cloud Catcher, a device that Mayor Humdinger commandeers to clear the weather for his fireworks show. The device goes out of control, causing Ryder and the PAW Patrol to jump into action.
Abaddon from Supernatural
Abaddon (played by Alaina Huffman) was one of the Knights of Hell, a title bestowed upon her by Lucifer because she was one of the first humans to fall and become a demon. Abaddon is responsible for the death of the Men of Letters in 1958, and she later attempts to overthrow Crowley and become Queen of Hell. When possessing Josie Sands in the ’50s, Abaddon dresses in era-appropriate attire. When she returns to take over Hell decades later, she opts most often for leather jackets and tight fitting jeans, though she still often dons bright red lipstick.
Melanie Cavill from Snowpiercer
Melanie Cavill (played by Jennifer Connelly) is the Voice of the Train on TNT’s TV reboot of Bong Joon-Ho’s 2013 film Snowpiercer. Melanie is a cunning and intelligent woman who exerts her will over the passengers of the train by invoking Mr. Wilford’s name. She is shown throughout the series to be cruel and calculating, capable of making alliances as suits her needs at the time, including an often uneasy back and forth with Andre Layton. Melanie’s uniform consists of a blue-green skirt suit complete with a Wilford Industry pin and buttons. During Fight Night on the train, Melanie lets her hair down in a chic black gown.
Bev Keane from Midnight Mass
Beverly Keane (played by Samantha Sloyan) is an extremely devout parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in the Netflix mini series Midnight Mass. Bev is an influential figure in the small community of Crockett Island, and her judgmental nature shines through as she bullies her way over Sheriff Omar Hassan and Erin Greene in meetings and supports Father Paul in his crusade to convert her neighbors back to faith. Bev sports long auburn hair always pulled back into a braid and is never without her silver crucifix necklace. She wears several conservative outfits throughout the course of the series, including a mid-calf floral dress with a beige cardigan during the Crock Pot Luck. Her most iconic outfit, though, might be the simple white cassock she wears when performing her duties in church, though the garment receives some suspicious red stains by the finale.
Jo from Kid Cosmic
Jo (voiced by Amanda Céline Miller) is a teenage girl who works at her mom’s diner while moonlighting as a member of the Local Heroes on the Netflix show Kid Cosmic. When she harnesses the power of the Purple Stone, Jo becomes Portal Girl, a teleporting hero who works with the Kid. Jo has purple hair and wears a pink and black striped shirt with black jeans and sneakers. When working at her mom’s diner, she also wears a white visor and apron.
