Bunny from The Powerpuff Girls
Bunny (voiced by Christine Cavanaugh) is a short-lived sister of the titular trio of The Powderpuff Girls in the episode “Twister Sister.” Bunny is portrayed as a larger than her sisters and not as smart. While trying to support their crime fighting efforts, Bunny releases criminals instead of helping detain them. Eventually, she sacrifices herself to help her sisters defeat the criminals again. Bunny has brown hair she wears in a high ponytail. She dresses much like her sisters with a purple dress, black belt, white tights, and black shoes.
Finley from Hustle Cat
Finley is one of the romance route characters in the dating sim Hustle Cat, by Date Nighto.
She is very energetic to the point of it being a bit excessive, and doesn’t like taking orders from people, preferring her own independence. She runs an online cat-based account, Jelly Donut, because of the curse the cafe employees suffer from, as a way to cope with it and to bring popularity to the cafe.
Finley has very long ombre dark to light brown hair, and light brown eyes. She wears a black undershirt with a light green collared blouse-like dress over top, tied with a red ribbon around the neck, and sheer flower patterned dark pink tights. This is finished off with black slip ons, and earrings with a reference to the game ‘Bl@st Zone’, which only exists in the world of Hustle Cat.
Keiko Morita from Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate
Keiko Morita (voicd by Maya Aoki Tuttle) is a character from the TV movie Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate. Keiko is Megamind’s biggest fan and a social media influencer. She uses her phone to capture many of Megamind’s actions, much like reporter Roxanne Ritchi in the original Megamind film. Keiko wears a colorful outfit that consists of a green tank top with a blue lightning bolt layered over a purple shirt. She also wears baggy pants and combat boots, and acessorizes her outfit with a choker necklace and sheer fingerless gloves paired with studded bracelets.
Jinmay from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!
Jinmay (voiced by Ashley Johnson and Yurin) is a robotic character in the animated series Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! She is an honorary member of the Hyperforce alongside Chiro. Jinmay has pink hair she wears in low pigtails and bright green eyes. She wears a mint green dress with a pink heart decal over an orange short sleeved blouse. She also wears white knee high socks an dmint green shoes. You can add a heart-shaped iron on decal to a green dress to get closer to Jinmay’s appearance on the show.
Fluttershy from My Little Pony: Equestria Girls
Fluttershy (voiced by Andrea Libman) is part of the main group of characters in the TV series, My Little Pony: Friendship is magic. This article will be covering her human variation from Equestria Girls.
Her hair is similar to how she wears it as a pony, with it being long and light pink, and her eyes are a dark turquoise, which she wears a dusty pink eyeshadow over, on her lids. She wears a thick strap white tank-top with a yellow-green highwaisted skirt over top, detailed with various pink-colored butterfly designs, and a combination of white and pink underskirts. The outfit is finished off with a white and green butterfly hairclip, deep pink knee-high socks with white polka-dots on them, and knee-high boots that match the color of her skirt, with white details and innards.
The Fates from Hadestown
The Fates (originally played by Jewell Blackman, Kay Trinidad, and Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer on Broadway) are mischievous characters in the musical Hadestown. Often found interfering with Eurydice and making her life more difficult, the Fates are three characters dressed in shades of black, white, and grey who work together throughout the show. None of their costumes are exactly alike, but they use similar pieces to create a cohesive group costume. Start with a flowy white and black patterned dress, and add a black waist belt. Tuck your hair beneath a black and white turban and clip on a black fascinator. Finish with black tights and heels, and a dab of black lipstick.
Mrs. Doyle from Father Ted
Mrs. Doyle (portrayed by Pauline McLynn) is the dowdy housekeeper from the comedy series Father Ted. She works for the titular Father Ted Crilly, Father Jack Hackett, and Father Dougal McGuire. Mrs. Doyle has messy hair and wears modest clothing. To create your costume, you’ll need dark pantyhose, oxford shoes, and a brown midi-length skirt. Pair this with a floral blouse that includes a tie feature at the collar. Mrs. Doyle also wears smocks over her clothes as part of her houskeeping attire, so choose one in a neutral color and complete your costume with a cozy oversized cardigan.
Mackenzie Carpenter from Drive Thru
Mackenzie Carpenter (played by Leighton Meester) is the protagonist of the horror movie Drive Thru. Mackenzie and her friends are targeted by a demonic mascot, Horny the Clown. Her style is true to the time the film was made, relying on the punk/emo aesthetic of the early 2000s. Mackenzie wears several different outfits throughout the movie, but two of the most memorable are worn while she’s chased by the killer mascot. To create your costume, start with eyeliner, black nail polish, and a thick black leather cuff watch. Then, choose which outfit to recreate. Earlier in the film, Mackenzie wears low rise grey jeans, a skull print tee, and a black zip up hoodie with white graphics. Later, she wears black combat boots, wide leg camo pants, and a burgundy tank top.
Ms. Frizzle from The Magic School Bus
Ms. Valerie Frizzle (voiced by Lily Tomlin) is the eccentric teacher at the heart of the PBS animated series The Magic School Bus. Ms. Frizzle is loved by her students and known to often take them on incredible field trips with the help of the titular bus. Ms. Frizzle has frizzle ginger hair she wears in a messy bun and often dons boldly batterned dresses with matching shoes and accessories that tie in with her lesson plan. To create your costume, focus on bold funky prints that such as space or dinosaurs and pair them with thematic earrings and shoes. If you can’t find a collared dress, remember that you can layer a simpler dress over a blouse to achieve a similar look and that you can add pins or other accessories to simple shoes to make them look more appropriate. Complete your look with a wig and Liz Ard purse so you can take your trusty chameleon sidekick with you on your next field trip!
Cassandra from KAOS
Cassandra is a character from the new Netflix series KAOS, and is played by Billie Piper. KAOS is a modern dark comedy series that is inspired by the characters and stories of Greek mythology.
To dress like Cassandra, start with an oversized denim jacket. Distress with things like sandpaper and acrylic or fabric paint focused at the seams. Wear a maroon tank top, flannel layered between the jacket and tank, and any pants or jeans and shoes. Use black eyeliner and eyeshadow to smudge around the eyes and create a line down the nose. You can also use the black eyeshadow to smudge on the neck, face, and top of the chest to create the dirty look. Tease your hair to create the messy style and put it half up in a ponytail.
