Carbon Costume

Mari is the older sister of Sunny in the indie game OMORI.  Mari exists in both the real world and in Sunny’s dream world known as HEADSPACE.  Mari is childhood friends with Kel, Hero, Basil, and Aubrey.  She is a kind and supportive sister and friend.  In HEADSPACE, Mari wears a purple pleated skirt, dark purple vest, red necktie, and short sleeve white button-down shirt.  She also dons a pair of Mary Jane shoes and carries a picnic basket.

Mirabel Garlick is a character in the new video game set in the Harry Potter universe, Hogwarts Legacy. She is a herbology professor at Hogwarts in the game. She has become a popular character on the internet since the game was released in February of 2023. Her kind and positive demeanor really shines through to audiences, despite her being a minor character. Mirabel’s costume fits into her interests and environments perfectly. She wears greens, yellows, and purples that reflect the plants she surrounds herself with. Leather straps are worn around the arms that resemble vines, and the flower garland adorns her green witch hat. The many layers to her costume makes it very uniquely interesting and creates a beautiful color palette.

Ariel from the new Disney 2023 film, The Little Mermaid is played by Halle Bailey. This live action version of the beloved animated film is a fun and refreshing new take on the original. Ariel is just as stylish on shore as she is under the sea! On land she wears a frilly light ocean blue dress that is perfectly fit for a princess. The details in her costumes throughout the film reflect the theme of the sea and all things underwater. The light and airy ruffles on her dresses remind us of waves, and the ruching resembles patterns on fish. Other than blue, she also has lots of pink details.

Cynthia Zdunowski (played by Ari Notartomaso) is one-fourth of the titular group at the heart of the prequel series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.  Cynthia has always dreamt of being a member of the T-birds, but isn’t allowed to join.  The Pink Ladies are born when Cynthia joins with friends Nancy, Olivia, and Jane.  Cynthia often wears trousers and favors more loose-fitting silhouettes than other members of the Pink Ladies.  Don’t be afraid to clash patterns as well, since Cynthia does so often.  The unique mustard-colored sweater with hood is difficult to find an exact match for, but several similar options exist so you can choose whichever you think looks closest.  Add Cynthia’s name to a Pink Ladies jacket with a black fabric marker.

Sailor Mercury [Ami] (voiced in Japanese by Aya Hisakawa and in English by Karen Berstein, Liza Balkan, and Kate Higgins) is one of the main characters in the anime/manga, Sailor Moon.

She was the second of the scouts to join under Luna’s guidance, very close to the start of the series. Ami is very technology based and uses that in her fighting style, with a pocket sized supercomputer that Luna gave her.

Thematically she is very blue, with short, dark blue hair and eyes in a slightly lighter shade, and her sailor uniform being the white base as the others, but with dark and light blue accents. She wears white elbow length gloves with dark blue cuffs, a solid blue choker, knee high dark blue boots with a light blue edge on them, and the same tiara headband as the others but with a blue gem.

Nancy Nakagawa (played by Tricia Fukuhara) is a founding member of the Pink Ladies alongside friends Olivia, Jane, and Cynthia in Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies.  Nancy is an aspiring fashion designer, a fact which comes across in her often unique and eccentric clothing choices.  A great example is her green lobster skirt, which is nearly impossible to find an exact match for, unless you’re particularly adept with a sewing machine yourself.  Similar options exist with either lobsters or the more standard ’50s poodle print.  Nancy pushes the limits of fashion, so don’t be afraid to accessorize your costume with brooches that evoke her signature embellishments or unique hairpins.  Finish your look with black loafers, white socks, and your Pink Ladies jacket with Nancy’s name added with a fabric marker to the front.

Arnheid (voiced by Mayumi Sako and Natalie van Sistine) is a slave of Keti alongside Thorfinn and Einar in Vinland Saga.  She is honest and hard-working even after losing her son.  When her husband Gardar finds her, they attempt to run away, but Gardar dies and Arnheid ends up recaptured before meeting her own end.  Arnheid has blonde hair and wears simple clothing including a brown dress, an apron with leather straps, and brown shoes.

Sailor Chibi Moon [Chibiusa] (voiced in Japanese by Kae Araki and in English by Tracy Hoyt, Stephanie Beard, and Sandy Fox) is one of the main characters in the anime/manga, Sailor Moon.

She is Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask’s daughter from the future, but does not get along with Usagi the majority of the time, and is a bit concerningly attached to Mamoru. Out of the rest of the scouts, the one she is closest with is Hotaru, her best friend.

Chibiusa has bubblegum pink hair that she wears up in two puffy pigtails, with two rabbit-ear like buns on top, and has red eyes. Depending on the variation of her outfit, the hairclips change in number. Her sailor outfit is a white base like the rest, and for her Super sailor form, it has a mixed color motif of red, pink, and yellow. She has a similar tiara to Sailor Moon, a heart choker, white elbow length gloves with pink cuffs, and pink boots with white tops and a moon decoration on the front middle (you may need to add the moon).
