Rosie from Hazbin Hotel

Rosie (voiced by Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer) is an elegant and friendly demon in the web series Hazbin Hotel.  She has a flair for vintage fashion and music, and is friends with Alastor.  Rosie has pale grey skin and white hair, black eyes and sharpened teeth.  She wears an oversized hat in shades of maroon and black.  Her attire is Victorian-inspired in the same colors.  To build your costume, start by choosing a vintage-styled skirt in burgundy or red and black.  You’ll also need a high-collar blouse in matching colors.  Add a bolero to emulate the style of her costuming from the series.  Finish your costume with a white wig and white gloves, as well as a fabulous derby hat.

Inferno from Living Dead Dolls

Inferno is part of the fourth series of Living Dead Dolls, is the first doll in any series to have wings, and shares a death date with Aleister Crowley.

She has wavy, mid-parted, long ginger hair, with little black devil horns peaking out of it. Her eyes are a bright fiery red and yellow, and she has black lips. Her outfit consists mainly of a black robe with a tattered base, under which you can see hidden flames, her nails are painted red, and she has long red cotton socks, worn under black t-strap Mary Jane shoes. The look is finished off with large red devil wings.

Angel Crowley from Good Omens 2

Angel Disguise Crowley from Good Omens 2

Crowley is a main character in Good Omens. In the second season, he travels up to Heaven via elevator. Accompanied by the Muriel, he disguises himself as an angel by swapping his black outfit for silver and gold tones. You may also recognize his actor, David Tennant, as the Tenth Doctor. Use the gold eyeliner to draw the snake tattoo next to his ear.

octavia from hazbin hotel

Octavia from Hazbin Hotel

Octavia (voiced by Barrett Wilbert Weed) is an avian demon in the web cartoon Hazbin Hotel.  Octavia is sarcastic with an interest in collecting taxidermy that suits her gothic appearance.  Octavia has messy hair and long grey tail feathers.  She wears a pink dress and black beanie.  To recreate her look, don’t be afraid to be a little interpretive.  White face paint with purple eyeshadow can evoke her unique appearance.  The wings pictured, though meant to be worn over the arms, can be detached into two halves and worn on the legs if you’re feeling particularly crafty.  (Safety pins can do a lot to help secure them in place by pinning them to other items of clothing.)  If you are just looking for a short-term costume, gold star stickers can be added to the dress for an evening.  Otherwise, you may want to get out the hot glue gun or splurge for iron-on patches in the same star shape.

Lord Malak from Dark Deception

Lord Malak from Dark Deception

Do you like mazes? Do you like horror games? If you answered yes to both questions, then “Dark Deception” is for you. Players must navigate a maze of nightmarish horrors, all orchestrated by the vile Lord Malak. If players can collect enough Soul Shards, they are allowed to return to the world of the living. Lord Malak won’t make it easy, though. It’s his game, his maze, and his monsters. And he’d rather the player stay right where they are.

Lord Malak’s costume is fairly simple, though it does require some body paint. Red body paint gives you his demonic pallor while horns on a headband rounds out the look. Black gloves match a black suit, black shirt, black shoes, and a black button down shirt while a dark red tie stands out as his one accessory.

Tricky the Clown from Madness Combat

Tricky the Clown from Madness Combat

Violent. Sadistic. Insane. Tricky is not what anyone would call a good person. But he does make for an excellent cosplay.

You will need a bald cap to achieve his look as well as face paint and a red clown wig. The listed wig already has an included bald spot that you will either have to paint or cut out and attach in a different way. Green gloves cover your hand while a gray tunic and gray shoe covers round out the look. You can use foam to make a mask or the his road sign for a few extra pieces.

Verosika Mayday from Helluva Boss

Verosika Mayday from Helluva Boss

Verosika from Helluva Boss is not what you would call a nice woman. Even for a succubus she has an attitude and she’s not above making everyone else deal with the consequences. Whether in human or demon form, she’s not someone you want to cross.

Cosplaying her can be a lot of fun, though. Both her human and her demon form wear black leg warmers with back stilettos while her demon form has a white-ish wig and her human form is blonde. In demon form she wear s white dress decorated with black shape that you’ll have to paint on. She also has pink horns and a pink tail. Her human form opts for a pink long sleeve drop top and matching skirt with white details that you will also have to paint on.

Satan and 2020 from Match.Com

Satan and 2020 from Match.com

2020 has been a rough year. One that hasn’t given people many reasons to smile. But thanks to Ryan Reynolds and Match.com we have at least one: an all too timely commercial of Satan and 2020 linking up on match’s dating app.

2020 – whose icon is a picture of a murder hornet and played by Natalie Roy – matches with an entirely too bored-looking Satan played by Aaron Reed. And of course as soon as they get together all, well, hell breaks loose. 2020 steals all the toilet paper out of a public restroom, the couple breaks into both a gym (where the probably didn’t wipe down the machines) and a movie theater (where 2020 openly records the movie on her phone). They take a selfie in front of a literal dumpster fire and then watch the world end under the romantic flaming light of an apocalyptic meteor shower.

It’s pure chaos. And it is pure 2020.

This commercial gives us a great couple’s costume for 2021 – provided things improve before then. And it makes for a great way to take a darkly humorous approach to dealing with the stress of the year.

Satan’s look is really similar to Tim Curry’s Satan in the 1985 movie Legend. To recreate the look yourself you’ll want to start with some curved horns and red body paint. Black body paint makes for great accents and you’ll want black lipstick as well. That will cover your body’s upper half though can add a red bodysuit if you want more coverage than red body paint.

For the lower body you’ll want some fake fur pants and a broad leather belt that you decorate with thin chains. Matching black leather bracers on your wrists are another great accessory. And finally you’ll want those signature goat feet!

Dressing up as 2020 is a little bit easier. You start with a blonde wig with really heavy streaks. The style changes a few times during the commercial but heaving most of it down with two thin pig tails on the top is a good option. Once that’s styled you’ll need a jacket of fake red fur, a red top, red burgundy pants, and then a pair of red pleather boots. You can even bring along some toilet paper from your latest haul!

Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel

Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel

Angel Dust (voiced by Michael Kovach) is a demon and resident of the Hazbin Hotel. With his white fur and pink markings he has a distinct look even among demons. Never mind the four (or six) arms or venomous bite!

He might be sarcastic and reckless but the heart on the back of his head isn’t there for nothing. Angel Dust knows who his people are and he’s there for them when they need him.

There’s really no way to mimic Angel’s retractable arms but you can get the rest of his look with a little DIY and body paint. A white wig and styling gel will give you his hair style while hair chalk lets you draw in the pink spots and the heart on the back of his head. There are pre-made wigs on Etsy though they do cost a pretty penny in exchange for the predone work.

The wig sets the tone for the rest of Angel Dust’s costume. White body paint mimics his demon-pale skin. A white suit jacket can be painted with pink fabric paint to mimic Angel Dust’s. Under that you’ll want a white button down shirt and add a black bow tie. White leggings, pink gloves, and black  boots copy the rest of his look. Finish it off with a set of sharp fake teeth and you’re a dead ringer for Hell’s favorite pretty boy. Make sure you pack plenty of sass and you’re ready to go! Just try and stay out of the kind of trouble that Angel Dust usually gets into.

Stolas from Hazbin Hotel

Stolas from Hazbin Hotel

Stolas (voiced by Brock Baker in the pilot on YouTube) is a demon prince of hell in the web series Hazbin Hotel. He dotes on those he loves and is, generally, less cruel than other demons. But he is still a demon. Just one whose interests lie in the sexual rather than the generally violent. At least with other demons. With humans, however, it’s quite a different story.

You can’t quite mimic Stolas’ bird-like appearance. But you can get close! Start with a top hat and add back feathers around the rim. Add a golden crown on the brim and your hat is all set. Gray face paint and an owl mask lend you Stolas’ facial appearance. And the rest of the costume is all down to his regal sense of style.

Stolas favors an ermine-trimmed cape with a tattered hem. The cape pictured above is close but you will have to tatter the edges yourself. Under that Stolas wears a red military-style coat, grey skintight pants that are best mimicked with gray leggings, and tall black boots. Next you’ll need long black gloves with white feathers added around the top. And finally you will need a long feathered owl tail. You can either make one or use the feathered boa pictured above to mimic Stolas’ tail.

Now you’re ready to strut your stuff as a prince of Hell!
