Yotasuke Takahashi is a character of the manga Blue Period. Illustrated by Tsbuasa Yamaguchi, the series was serialized in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine and has been collected in ten volumes. Also known as Sekai-kun, he is a student at Tokyo University of the Arts. He previously attended Yatora’s school. Despite his shy personality, Yotasuke is actually blunt and temperamental. He is very confident in his art abilities.

He previously attended Yatora’s school and he now attends Tama Art University. Cheerful and aloof, he has a strange fetish for art.

She attended the same school as Yatora. While seemingly positive, Maki feels inferior compared to her older sister. Her lack of self confidence prevents her from seeing how her artistic innovations inspire others. She is very friendly and caring as well, as displayed through sharing her lunch with students.

Yatora Yaguchi is the main character of the manga Blue Period. Illustrated by Tsbuasa Yamaguchi, the series was serialized in Kodansha’s seinen manga magazine and has been collected in ten volumes. Yatora is a second year high school student, who despite his delinquent lifestyle, achieves excellent grades. He feels his life is dull and predictable, which leaves him empty and frustrated. One day, he comes across his senpai, Mori, painting in the school’s art club. Fascinated and inspired, he discovers a passion for painting. His goal is to eventually enroll in Tokyo University of the Arts.

Ruka Sarashina is a main character in the Rent-A-Girlfriend manga series. Illustrated by Reiji Miyajima, it has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine and complied into twenty one volumes. Ruka is introduced as Shun Kuribayashi’s girlfriend, but she’s another rental girlfriend for like Chizuru. Seeing the way Kazuya cares about Chizuru, she wants to date him. She has a condition that results in a low heart rate. She realizes her feelings for Kazuya when her heart rate elevates. Later on, Ruka gets a job at the same karaoke bar as Kazyua.

Mami Nanami is a main character in the Rent-A-Girlfriend manga series. Illustrated by Reiji Miyajima, it has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine and complied into twenty one volumes. Mami is Kazuya’s former girlfriend. While she appears friendly, she is actually jealous and possessive in a way that scares off others. She can’t believe that Kazuya found another girlfriend so soon after their break up.

By day, Chizuru is a college student under her grandmother Sayuri’s family name, Ichinose. By night, she is a rental girlfriend. Usually her ratings are exceptional, until Kazuya gives her a bad one. Although because he wants to get over his recent breakup, and his grandmother Nagomi takes a liking to her, Kazuya continues to rent her services. This becomes difficult when they realize they attend the same college and live next to each other.

Indecisive yet kind, he is a twenty years old college student who lives in Tokyo. After breaking up with his girlfriend, he decides to use an online dating service. He then rents a girlfriend named Chizuru. Now he has to continue renting her to keep up appearances, but he eventually develops romantic feelings. Kayuza later works at a karaoke bar to pay for their dates. A notable characteristic is his love for marine biology and aquariums. In fact, one of his many pet fish provides commentary in the manga.
