Penelope Blossom from Riverdale
Penelope Blossom (played by Nathalie Boltt) is a recurring character in the CW series Riverdale. The mother of Cheryl and Jason, Penelope is manipulative and cunning, with a penchant for poisons. She has copper hair and favors the color red in nearly all of her ensembles. She wears a glove on her left hand to cover scars after receiving third-degree burns. When crafting your costume, focus on chic silhouettes, carefully styled hair, and crimson pieces that really pop.
Luke Danes from Gilmore Girls
Luke Danes (played by Scott Patterson) is the surly diner owner of Star Hollow’s favorite coffee spot on the show Gilmore Girls. Luke’s Diner is an important meeting spot for many of the show’s quirky characters, including Lorelei and Rory Gilmore, who function best with a very large cup of coffee in their hands. Eventually, Luke also becomes Lorelei’s primary love interest. Whereas many of the other characters on the show have an array of fashion options available, Luke’s look is more streamlined. Typically, he wears comfortable jeans, a flannel shirt, and a baseball cap turned backward. To really take the look to the next level, use a Luke’s Diner branded cap and be sure to bring a carafe of coffee; your Lorelei will thank you.
Lorelei Gilmore from Gilmore Girls
Lorelei Gilmore (played by Lauren Graham) is one-half of the titular Gilmore Girls on the classic CW show. Mother to Rory, Lorelei comes from a wealthy family but has made her own way in the world after having her daughter as a teen. Lorelei’s style fluctuates throughout the series, but often tends toward the quirkier side. Some of her most iconic looks include the pink coat she often dons, and the “laundry day” look she wore to Rory’s first day at the prestigious Chilton Preparatory School. Lorelei is also rarely without a cup of coffee, especially if she has a chance to take a detour to Luke‘s Diner.
Rory Gilmore from Gilmore Girls
Rory Gilmore (played by Alexis Bledel) is the intelligent teenage daughter of Lorelei and one-half of the titular Gilmore Girls on the well-known CW show. Rory is studious and headstrong, much like her mother. Throughout the course of the show, Rory wears a wide variety of outfits. You can’t go wrong recreating her Chilton Prep School uniform or any of her other iconic outfits. In the pilot of the series, Rory wore a cozy sweater perfectly suited to her Connecticut hometown. As she grew and attended college, her style matured along with her.
Lex Luthor from Supergirl
Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) is an antagonist in The CW’s Supergirl. Archenemy of both Superman and Supergirl, he is the former CEO of Luthor Corp also known as L-Corp. Lillian Luthor is his mother and Lena Luthor is his half sister. A power hungry mastermind, Lex aims to destroy Superman and remove all aliens from Earth. Achieve his villainous all-black ensemble using this costume guide.
Abaddon from Supernatural
Abaddon (played by Alaina Huffman) was one of the Knights of Hell, a title bestowed upon her by Lucifer because she was one of the first humans to fall and become a demon. Abaddon is responsible for the death of the Men of Letters in 1958, and she later attempts to overthrow Crowley and become Queen of Hell. When possessing Josie Sands in the ’50s, Abaddon dresses in era-appropriate attire. When she returns to take over Hell decades later, she opts most often for leather jackets and tight fitting jeans, though she still often dons bright red lipstick.
Batwoman
Kate Kane, aka Batwoman, is the title character of the live action CW show Batwoman. Three years have passed since the disappearance of Batman, and his cousin Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) must take the mantle to be Gotham’s next vigilante. Under the alter-ego of Batwoman, she protects the city from criminals. In the second season, an airplane crashes with Kate as a passenger. Although her body missing, her Batsuit is found by Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), a former convict. Ryan becomes the newest Batwoman, aiming to finish what Kate started. We included two wig options, one for Kate Kane and one for Ryan Wilder, depending on which Batwoman you want to cosplay. If you’re able to splurge, ProCosplay offers the entire set. The Rubie’s option doesn’t include shoes, but a pair of black shoes or boots will do.
Black Lightning
Black Lighting (Cress Williams) is the main character in the CW’s Black Lighting. His real name is Jefferson Pierce. Unknown to others, he used to be a superhero, but has since retired to become the principal of a charter school. When a local gang kidnaps his daughters, he has to suit up as Black Lightning to save them. As a result, Jefferson must return to fighting crime. He must also deal with the effects of vigilante activity on his professional and family life. Black Lightning has the ability manipulating electricity. His daughters eventually join him as Thunder and Lightning after realizing they have powers like their father.
Jay Garrick from The Flash
Far out there in the multiverse exists Jay Garrick, a different incarnation of The Flash. On The CW’s The Flash show, John Wesley Shipp, an original Flash actor from the 1990s show, appears as both Barry Allen’s father and, later, the real Jay Garrick of his native timeline. (There was some confusion, initially, about who Jay Garrick really was. Long story.) Aside from the winged helmet, Jay Garrick’s Flash costume is extremely easy to source and assemble. A simple red crewneck shirt can be enhanced with the Flash’s signature lightning bolt printed over iron-on transfer paper.
Jade from Legacies
Jade (Giorgia Whigham) is a character who appears in The CW’s Legacies, a spin-off of The Originals, which was the first spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. She was a sixteen year old student at the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted. She’s a vampire who is particularly prone to losing control when drinking and seeing human blood. In the lore of the show, these type of vampires are called rippers. In school, she enjoyed rebellion and detention. However, when she accidentally murdered her best friend, she turned off her humanity. Without it, Jade became cold, unpredictable, and unstable. Her lack of empathy got her banished to a prison world, where she’d torment her companions for fun. Ten years later, she regained her humanity thanks to Josie, a former frenemy and current crush. Feeling newfound guilt and remorse, Jade apologized for everything she had done.
