Havok
Havok is a fictional character who appears in Marvel comics in the X-Men universe. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, his real name is Alexander Summers. If that surname sounds familiar, then yes, he is the older brother of Gabriel (Vulcan) and younger brother of Scott (Cyclops). Although he often clashes with Scott, as he resents his reputation in the X-Men. His powers include cosmic energy absorption and plasma discharge, which have been proven to exceed those of his two brothers. Paint the suit with the lines and circle in the middle; add white in the center of the circle for highlight. Cut the top of the face mask for the wig. For the sweatband, cut ut a little ‘v’ in the front and use the glow in the dark paint to add accents.
Mystique from X-Men
Misunderstood and bullied since childhood, blue-skinned shapeshifter Mystique (played onscreen by Jennifer Lawrence and Rebecca Romijn) truly understands anti-mutant oppression. Her early experiences of mistreatment shaped her stance in the fight for mutant equality — or even dominance, as her leader, Magneto, gravitates towards.
Mystique is easily remembered for her onscreen appearances wearing only the strategically-placed blue scales she was born with (requiring Rebecca Romijn to spend hours in the makeup room), but comic book portrayals have been slightly more favorable to cosplayers attending family-friendly venues. You could buy the blue jumpsuit and stop there, but I’ve included some additional garments which draw inspiration from my personal favorite Mystique look from the retro X-Men arcade game.
Beast from X-Men
Beast, or Dr. Hank McCoy, is a founding member of the X-Men. His powers as a mutant include super strength and heightened senses. Despite his animalistic appearance, Beast possesses brilliant intelligence, and can communicate eloquently. He is a professor at the Xavier Institute as well as an activist for the acceptance of mutants in society. This guide follows his comic book iteration. Use the blue paint to cover your entire face as well as to paint the pointed ears. Some appropriate additions might include a pair of glasses and a lab coat.
Dark Phoenix
In X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Jean Gray (Sophie Turner) is a mutant with extremely powerful telepathic and telekinetic powers. After a space mission goes wrong, Jean is hit and nearly killed by a mysterious cosmic force that unleashes an entity within her, known as the Phoenix, that she is unable to comprehend or control.
Sabretooth from X-Men Origins: Wolverine
In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Sabretooth (Liev Schreiber), real name Victor Creed, is a mutant with animal-like abilities like retractable claws, regenerative healing, and enhanced senses… much like his younger half-brother Wolverine.
Phoenix / Jean Grey
A telepath and telekinetic whose powers rival that of Professor X’s, Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) of X-Men: The Last Stand is no longer the kind, sweet woman of the previous two movies. After drowning while saving the rest of the team, Jean is resuscitated by a dark, evil, extremely powerful force called the Phoenix. As the Phoenix, Jean Grey joins with Magneto in his battle against humans and her true potential is unleashed in a fiery fury, resulting in tragedy. The Phoenix wears all red, reflecting her connection to fire.
Polaris from The Gifted
Polaris (Emma Dumont), birth name Lorna Dane, is a main character in the 2017 Fox series The Gifted. She is a mutant with the ability to manipulate magnetism. She is also the daughter of Magneto.
Donald Pierce
In Logan, Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) is a cyborg who is leader and head of security for the militant group Reavers. He is relentless in pursuing Logan, Laura, and Charles Xavier, even forcing Caliban to use his mutant-tracking abilities to find them.
Caliban from Logan
Caliban (Stephen Merchant) is a mutant from the X-Men film series and in Logan is an ally to Wolverine. He helps foster Charles Xavier, but in the past, his power of tracking Mutants was used to eliminate most of them. He cannot be exposed to sunlight or else he burns horrifically.
Logan
Taking inspiration from the Old Man Logan comic series, the film Logan has Hugh Jackman portraying a graying and gritty Wolverine, capping a 17-year run with his final appearance in the role. Logan is scraping a living as a limo driving, hustling medications south of the border for Professor X when a young mutant pleads for his help.
