In the 1981 BBC adaptation of Douglas Adams's the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Ford Prefect (David Dixon) is an alien journalist who's doing undercover research on Earth. He chooses his name with the idea that it will be inconspicuous, when in fact it's the name of a popular car model.
