Lureen Newsome Twist from Brokeback Mountain
In Brokeback Mountain, Lureen Newsome Twist (played by Anne Hathaway) is a rodeo performer and the unsuspecting wife of Jack Twist. Lureen’s father is a successful businessman and she eventually leaves the rodeo to work for him in pursuit of greater wealth. Lureen’s most memorable costume in the film is her red and white rodeo outfit.
Andy Bernard from The Office
Andy Bernard (played by Ed Helms) is a Dunder Mifflin employee from The Office who transfers from Stamford to Scranton with Jim when the branches are merged together. Andy often refers to his time at Cornell University, and especially his involvement with a college a cappella group. Andy has anger management issues which he takes classes for, and he is also romantically involved with both Angela and Erin at different times. Andy often wears pastel colors, sweater vests, and bow ties.
Dex Parios from Stumptown
On the TV show Stumptown, based on the comics of the same name, Dex Parios (played by Cobie Smulders) is a sarcastic Portland private investigator and ex-Marine. With a complicated past and little tolerance for dwelling on it, Dex can usually be found avoiding talking about her feelings with a drink in her hand. Dex’s style mostly revolves around well-loved vintage t-shirts, slim fitting jeans, and practical footwear.
Laurie from Little Women
In Little Women, Theodore Laurence (better known as Laurie, and played by Timothee Chalamet) is Jo March’s best friend and would-be suitor. Quite rich and rather spoiled, he grows into an immature man after being turned down by Jo, though he eventually marries her youngest sister Amy after the two spend time together in France. Laurie’s clothing is expensive and fine, though he and Jo often share clothes in their childhood, which can sometimes leave him looking a bit haphazard.
Dani Ramos from Terminator: Dark Fate
In Terminator: Dark Fate, Dani Ramos (played by Natalia Reyes) is humanity’s only hope for stopping the deadly terminators created by Legion, an AI system originally developed to combat cyber attacks. Dani struggles to come to terms with her role as a Resistance leader and fight to survive not only for herself, but for the future of humanity. Dani works at an auto assembly plant in Mexico City and is dressed for work when she is first attacked by a Rev-9 and flees with Grace.
Amy March from Little Women
Amy March (played by Florence Pugh) is the youngest of the March sisters in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women. Amy is often immature, but also a talented artist who eventually travels to France with her Aunt March to pursue an education in painting before unexpectedly marrying Jo’s longtime friend and once admirer Laurie. After she travels to France, Amy adopts a more refined style including rich blue hues and intricate accessories such as fascinators and fur wraps.
Andy Dwyer from Parks and Recreation
Andy Dwyer (played by Chris Pratt) is a lovable goofball on Parks and Recreation. He is also the frontman of local band Mouserat and husband of April Ludgate. Though he wears many unique outfits throughout the series, he has a yellow short sleeved button down that pops up multiple times. When he and April roleplay as Janet Snakehole and Burt Macklin, Andy transforms into the renegade FBI agent by donning a blue jacket and brown aviators.
Arthur Howitzer, Jr. from The French Dispatch
Arthur Howitzer, Jr. (played by Bill Murray) is the brains behind Wes Anderson’s fictional newspaper in The French Dispatch. As the Editor-in-Chief, Arthur is responsible for hiring the brightest journalists and improving their stories with his sharp perspective. Arthur’s clothing is mostly yellow and brown, with a suit vest, but no jacket.
Herbsaint Sazerac from The French Dispatch
Herbsaint Sazerac (played by Owen Wilson) is a writer for the French Dispatch in Wes Anderson’s film of the same name. Sazerac is rarely seen without his trusty camera or beret, and can often be found with his red bicycle in tow as he investigates his stories.
Harriet Smith from Emma
Harriet Smith (played by Mia Goth) is an orphan and pupil at Mrs. Goddard’s boarding school in Highbury. She becomes Emma Woodhouse’s closest friend in both the book and film versions of Jane Austen’s Emma. Harriet is a naive young girl who is easily swayed by Emma and her preferences. Harriet can often be found wearing a red cape, which is part of her boarding school uniform.
