We were front row at Retro Con 2024 in Oaks, Pennsylvania to get you a glimpse inside the annual costume contest. We were treated to a whole new slate of cosplays that honored characters from Ahsoka to Yu-Gi-Oh! If you recognize yourself or anyone you know below, let us know because we love to give due credit. Now onto the costume contest!

Ken the Eagle from Gatchman made his appearance at the event.

This isn’t just any werewolf, it’s The Werewolf by Night from the famed Marvel comic.

The Addams Family, including Wednesday, Gomez, Morticia, Puggsley, and Cousin Itt, were in the house, being their usual creepy selves.

Give is up for this cosplay of Eraser Head, full name Shota Aizawa, from My Hero Academia. The cosplayer’s performance captured the part to perfection.

The GI Joe squad was spotted on patrol, including Bazooka, Chuckles, and a stellar Snake Eyes.

Thankfully one of the OG superheroes was represented at Retro Con in Ultraman.

General Grievous and Ahsoka from Star Wars both put on a display dual-wielding lightsabers for the guests.

This Marty McFly cosplay from Back to the Future got all the details right from head to toe.

This Jake Rockwell from The Centurions was one of the most impressive builds of the day.

This Springtrap costume from Five Nights at Freddy’s gave the younger children in the audience a fright.

With all the elastic dance moves he made around Agent Stone, we were certain this was Jim Carey behind the mustache of Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog.

In a multiverse of Batmans at Retro Con, it was this Adam West Batman who dazzled us on stage with his ’60s action moves.

Jubilee from X-Men ’97 delighted us with this accurate rendition. We’re still trying to figure out how she got her yellow jacket to spread like that exactly as it does in the comics.

Cobra Commander from GI Joe gave us a peek under the chrome mask to reveal his reptilian features. He was once a man…

Almost the whole gang from Mystery Inc. showed up, including Shaggy, Daphne, and Velma. But Fred and Scooby-Doo, where are you?

Thankfully Black Lady from Sailor Moon was on her best behavior for the event.

A big thank you to all of the contestants. Congrats to the gold, silver, and bronze winners: Strawberry Shortcake, Voltron, and Yugi Mutou respectively. Honorable mentions also went to Gatchaman, the GI Joe group, Dr. Robotnik, Ahsoka & General Grievous, and Jake Rockwell.
