In Army of the Dead and the prequel Army of Thieves, Ludwig Dieter (played by Matthias Schweighöfer) is a German safecracker who acts nervous but has unmatched skills. He's hired to recover $200 million in Las Vegas, which at this point is overrun with zombies. Ludwig's original name is Sebastian Schlencht-Wöhnert, but as a child he drew a comic book about a world-class safecracker named Ludwig Dieter, and eventually adopted the name for himself.
