Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel

Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel

Angel Dust (voiced by Michael Kovach) is a demon and resident of the Hazbin Hotel. With his white fur and pink markings he has a distinct look even among demons. Never mind the four (or six) arms or venomous bite!

He might be sarcastic and reckless but the heart on the back of his head isn’t there for nothing. Angel Dust knows who his people are and he’s there for them when they need him.

There’s really no way to mimic Angel’s retractable arms but you can get the rest of his look with a little DIY and body paint. A white wig and styling gel will give you his hair style while hair chalk lets you draw in the pink spots and the heart on the back of his head. There are pre-made wigs on Etsy though they do cost a pretty penny in exchange for the predone work.

The wig sets the tone for the rest of Angel Dust’s costume. White body paint mimics his demon-pale skin. A white suit jacket can be painted with pink fabric paint to mimic Angel Dust’s. Under that you’ll want a white button down shirt and add a black bow tie. White leggings, pink gloves, and black  boots copy the rest of his look. Finish it off with a set of sharp fake teeth and you’re a dead ringer for Hell’s favorite pretty boy. Make sure you pack plenty of sass and you’re ready to go! Just try and stay out of the kind of trouble that Angel Dust usually gets into.

Richter Belmont from Castlevania

Richter Belmont from Castlevania

Richter Belmont (voiced in the English games by David Vincent and the Japanese by Kiyoyuki Yanda) is the bane of Dracula’s existence. Well one of them anyway. A vampire hunter from a long line of them, Belmont wields the Sacred Whip in his efforts to rid the world of evil.

There are several variations on Belmont’s costume. This write-up will focus on the one pictured above.  To start you’ll want a long blue military coat. You’ll have to cuff the sleeves and likely pin them in place so they don’t unroll while you’re wearing the costume. You’ll also need long black gloves and a pair of white pants. Finish it off with a bandolier, a brown wig, brown pirate boots, and – of course – the Scared Whip!

Star Platinum from JoJo's Bizarre Adventures

Star Platinum from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

Star Platinum (voiced by Matthew Mercer in the English animated versions) is one of the first stands introduced in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures. Largely silent and easily moved to violence, it is incredibly powerful.

Star Platinum doesn’t wear much but creating a cosplay for it takes more DIY than you might expect. You can achieve its purple skin either through the use of body paint of the use of a purple body suit with paint only on your face and neck. If you use body paint on your whole body, be sure and grab a pair of purple shorts to wear under its white loincloth.

It also wears elbow protectors, knee protectors, and shoulder pads. You will have to spray paint standard knee and elbow pads with purple spray paint. The shoulder pads need to be painted gold, however. And you can add the purple curling stripe on his shoulders with foam or cardboard painted purple and glued in place with a glue gun.

After that it’s just a matter of cutting the fingers off white gloves, putting a gold scarf around your neck, adding a gold belt, slipping into some white ankle boots, and putting on a black wig!

mayfeld-mandalorian-character

Mayfeld from The Mandalorian

Migs Mayfeld (Bill Burr) is a character in wildly popular Star Wars TV series on Disney+, The Mandalorian. A former Imperial sharpshooter turned mercenary, Mayfeld leads a rescue attempt from a prison transport ship. This team includes the Mandalorian himself, but they don’t exactly see eye to eye. In fact, the Mandalorian outsmarts him, which results in Mayfeld’s arrest and imprisonment. Later with the help of Cara Dune, and of course with Grogu in tow, he decides to break him out. Despite their clashing personalities, they become allies. Much like the comedian who plays the role, Mayfeld has sardonic personality and hard-edged sense of humor. While Mayfeld was mostly liked by fans, there was an outrage when he dropped The Child!

Seth Rollins from WWE

Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins (aka Colby Lopez) debuted in 2005 and has been making a splash ever since. He signed to the WWE in 2010 when he officially took up the mantle “Seth Rollins”. Prior to that he was Tyler Black with Ring of Honor. But Tyler Black was a long time ago. For the last ten years Lopez has wrestled under the name Seth Rollins. And he’s built up a huge fan following since!

Getting Rollins’ look takes a little bit of DIY. Of course you’ll want to start with a wig and a goatee if you want to get the exact look. And you’ll probably have to style the wig to get his slicked-back style.

From there you’ll want an all-black base to work from. Black leggings, black sneakers, a black bike vest, black leather shin guards, and black knee guards make up the majority of the costume. Then, using gold tape and fabric glue, apply the design Rollins has on his costume. Finish off the look with some black sweatbands and his signature black leather coat and you’re good to go!

He sets up various booby traps and tricks to save the day, which makes for hilarious scenes. Macaulay Culkin stars as the clever kid turned hero in every movie except for the third installment.

Bomberman

Bomberman

Bomberman – also known as Shiroban, White Bomber, or Cheerful White, is the main protagonist in the game Bomberman. While the game was originally put out by Konami, Bomberman also makes an appearance as a non-playable character in Super Smash Bros from Nintendo. He doesn’t have much to say but that hasn’t stopped the guy from becoming a fan favorite!

Bomberman’s costume takes a little bit of DIY but it’s worth it for this fun cosplay. Most of the DIY centers on the pink ball above his head. You can copy this look by gluing a lightweight ball to the top of a foam cylinder cut from a longer length of foam. You can then glue the other end of the cylinder to the hood of your body suit or, if you want to use the body suit for multiple costumes, you can glue the cylinder to a white headband.

The rest of the costume is just a matter of layers! A white bodysuit makes up the base while black face paint can mimic Bomberman’s eyes. On top of the body suit you’ll want a purple unitard and a black belt with a gold buckle. Finally add on the pink gloves and pink shoe covers. That’s all it takes to cosplay this jolly little guy. Boom, easy!

Cindy Lou Who

Cindy Lou Who is a sweet young girl in How The Grinch Stole Christmas. In the original children’s book by Dr. Seuss, she is a minor character, but she becomes the secondary protagonist in the movies. This guide features her costume from the 2000 live action adaptation starring Jim Carrey as the Grinch and Taylor Momsen as Cindy. Around eight or ten years old, Cindy lives with her frazzled father in Whoville. Unlike the other Whos, she believes there is some good in the Grinch. Later she sneaks aboard the Grinch’s sleigh and helps him return all the gifts. Cindy befriends the Grinch and brings him to celebrate the holiday by singing around the giant Christmas tree. Cindy also sings  “Where Are You Christmas?” which was specifically written for that movie.
