…In Spike Jonze’s film Her, Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix) is a lonely man who, after buying an operating system with artificial intelligence, starts falling in love with it. While the technology is futuristic, the large glasses and high-waisted pants are a throwback. Also worth a look is the Her collection from Opening Ceremony in collab with director Spike Jonze….

As the forger, Eames can project the likeness of any other person and mimic their mannerisms well enough to fool loved ones in the dream realm. In the real world, Eames is suave and teases Arthur often, though he otherwise keeps mostly to himself. Eames wears boldly patterned shirts with relaxed fit suit separates, and he uses a red poker chip as his totem….

…In Wes Anderson’s film Moonrise Kingdom, Mrs. Bishop (played by Frances McDormand) is the mother of Suzy Bishop. When Suzy and Sam Shakusky disappear together, Mrs. Bishop and her husband search for her. Mrs. Bishop wears several colorful outfits that are all true to the story’s 1965 setting, making this a fun costume to recreate with both new pieces and vintage finds….

…They Live is an action horror film from John Carpenter in which a drifer finds out a large percentage of the American population who hold power are actually aliens, and that all written text really say subliminal messages such as “OBEY” or “STAY ASLEEP”. Best done in groups. Recommended you make an “OBEY” picket sign….
