William “Bill” Overbeck is one of the four playable Survivors in VALVE’s survival zombie shooter Left 4 Dead. He is a Vietnam veteran who served in the US Army 1st Special Forces Group. He is often seen with his trusty M16A2 assault rifle.

In Logan, Laura Kinney (Dafne Keen) is a mysterious young mutant who is revealed to be a clone made from Wolverine’s blood. She might be an 11-year old girl wearing a rainbow tee and colorful sunglasses, but make no mistake that she is X-23, a deadly assassin created to be the perfect killing machine.

The G-Man is a mysterious and enigmatic character encountered several times in the Half-Life series. He plays the role of an overseer and eventual employer, watching over Gordon Freeman and other characters as the series progresses, at times helping or hindering them.

In 1989’s Batman, Joker (Jack Nicholson) becomes the Joker as we know him after mobster Carl Grissom sets up his second-in-command to be killed in a vat of chemicals. It doesn’t finish him off, but leaves him depraved and disfigured, with a maniacal laugh and deadly vendetta. Nicholson’s is a classic look that’s since been re-interpreted by Heath Ledger and Jared Leto.

In the Australian horror film Wolf Creek, Michael “Mick” Taylor (John Jarratt) is a cold, calculating, and sadistic man. His m.o. is to gain the trust of tourists traveling the outback before kidnapping, torturing, and murdering them. He’s loosely based on a real life serial killer nicknamed the The Backpack Killer.

In Deadpool 2, Domino (Zazie Beetz) is the codename of Neena Thurman. She is mutant who makes use of her power to manipulate luck as a mercenary, along with her excellent skills in marksmanship and hand-to-hand combat.

In Trollhunter, a group of students set out to film a documentary about suspected bear poacher Hans (Otto Jespersen). After stalking him through the forest, they realize that he doesn’t hunt bears but rather trolls. The students ask to follow along and record as Hans hunts trolls, which he agrees to.

Nicholas Angel is the protagonist of the 2nd entry in the Cornetto Trilogy, Hot Fuzz. He is portrayed by Simon Pegg and is the top police officer in London. He’s so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, he’s made Staff Sergeant and relocated to the country town of Sandford, where he discovers a sinister conspiracy.

In Westworld, Maeve Millay (Thandie Newton) is a host who plays the role of brothel madam. After she awakens in the control center and discovers that her life is a massive lie, she sets out to escape from the wild west themed amusement park with some help from fellow host Hector Escaton.

In the comic book series Mage, Kevin Matchstick is a young man who meets a wizard named Mirth. He learns that he possesses superhuman abilities and a magic baseball bat, using them to defeat an evil being named Umbra Sprite.
