Steve from Blue’s Clues

Steve Burns was the host of the hit children’s show Blue’s Clues. He’d help audiences solve puzzles using clues left behind by Blue – though he sure had a hard time finding the clues. In each episode he wore the same outfit, making his green striped rugby shirt just as memorable as his blue spotted companion.

Hotline Miami Jacket

In the retro 2D video game Hotline Miami, the unnamed protagonist (nicknamed Jacket) receives cryptic instructions to kill foes in an ultraviolent manner. He wears a variety of animal masks when completing these tasks, each of which gives him special abilities. To finish the costume, apply fake blood liberally.

Karl Pilkington

Karl Pilkington is the Idiot Abroad. When Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant send him on a tour around the world, he moans and whinges every step of the way. He’s also the inventor of the Pilko Pump Pants, which you can make by sewing a travel pillow to your bum.

Groot and Rocket Raccoon

In Guardians of the Galaxy, Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel) is a tree-like humanoid who teams up with Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper), a genetically engineered mercenary raccoon. The best part about playing Groot is that you only need to know one line: I am Groot.

Ford Prefect

In the 1981 BBC adaptation of Douglas Adams’s the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Ford Prefect (David Dixon) is an alien journalist who’s doing undercover research on Earth. He chooses his name with the idea that it will be inconspicuous, when in fact it’s the name of a popular car model.

Zero Suit Samus

In Metroid, Samus Aran is an intergalactic bounty hunter out to get the Space Pirates and their leader Ripley. You were probably shocked the first time Samus removed her helmet to reveal that she’s a woman, but there’s no mistaking it when she’s wearing her Zero Suit.

Gamora
