The Ringwraiths, often referred to as the Nazgûl, are Sauron’s ghastly indentured servants. Originally mortal men, they pledged their service to both Sauron and the One Ring in order to achieve immortality. With no visible physical forms, they are identified by their raggedy black robes.

In DC Bombshells, Enchantress is part of the Suicide Squad during WWII. Though her powers and abilities still revolve around her magic, her look is reminiscent of the witch archetype that was popularized in the 1940’s. Her costume is a combination of classic witch elements and Victorian fashion. The feather pom poms are a good substitute for energy projection, though green wired ribbon or green crystals will also work well.

Emma Swan is a hard-boiled bail bondsperson who learns that everyone in the town is a fairy tale character under a memory curse…including Snow White and Prince Charming, Emma’s biological parents. She must put aside her logic and practicality and take a leap of faith to help her son Henry break the curse and restore the memories of the people of Storybrooke.

Wicked gives the backstory of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. Born with green skin, she’s is neglected in favor of her beautiful sister Nessarose. When Elphaba starts college, she’s ignored in favor of her popular roommate Galinda. When they’re ready to fly, Galinda gets a bubble while Elphaba gets a dirty broomstick. How’s that fair?

In Dragon’s Crown, the Sorceress can mix potions, control skeletons, and even turn foes into harmless frogs. But she turns heads most for her controversial proportions, which take Lara Croft to the third power.

Scary Godmother is the comic book and animated character of the same name, written and illustrated by Jill Thompson. The children’s books were first published in 1997 then eventually spawned into an animated TV film in 2003.
