Men

Russell Adler from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Bruce Thomas voices the role of Russell Adler.  Adler is a CIA agent tasked with finding and stopping a Soviet agent named Perseus.  Adler’s look is quintessential ’80s cool, including square aviator glasses and a light brown leather jacket.  If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can also use a scar wax kit to recreate Adler’s distinctive facial scarring.

Pietro from WandaVision

Pietro’s appearance in WandaVision was one of the biggest shocks in a show built on leaving the viewers confused. And just like everything else in the show, his appearance brought more questions than it answered. The biggest of which was why Evan Peters’ Pietro showed up at Wanda’s door and not the brother she actually lost who was played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

While Quicksilver’s face might be what Marvel fans expected, his Halloween costume was at least close. Based off his original comic costume, it’s just what you’d expect a speedster to throw together on the fly. The best part is that it’s easy to put together your own too!

Denim cutoffs (made using the jeans listed above) layered over blue compression pants match the blue long sleeve shirt worn under a blue short sleeve shirt and make up the majority of the costume. The silver lightning bolt on Pietro’s chest can be copied with iron-on reflective silver tape while hair gel styles a grey wig into the wings he styled his own hair into. Finish off the look with a white belt and white running shows and you’re ready to go!

leonard shelby from memento

Leonard Shelby from Memento

Leonard Shelby (played by Guy Pearce) is the main character in Christopher Nolan’s 2000 film Memento.  Leonard suffers from anterograde amnesia, meaning he is incapable of making new memories.  As he searches for the man who killed his wife, Leonard must rely on Polaroid photos and the tattoos he has in order to remember the facts of the case.  In the film, Leonard uses a Polaroid SLR 680 camera.  Unfortunately, this particular model is difficult to find and extremely expensive when you do.  But any Polaroid camera would certainly help elevate the costume and provide a fun way to record your evening.

Travis from Disjointed

Travis from Disjointed

Travis (played by Aaron Moten) is the co-owner of Ruth’s Alternative Caring. He’s the most forward-thinking of the group and for good reason: he has an MBA. And while his mom might not pay much attention to it, Travis uses it to help out the dispensary in every way he can. His business ideas really put Ruth’s on the map.

Travis has a really laid back sense of fashion. To cosplay as him you’ll want a comfortable button down that you roll at your elbows. Layer a t-shirt under that and a pair of jeans with nice shoes that are also comfortable. Print up a business plan and keep it handy, too!

Jake Pentecost from Pacific Rim Uprising

Jake Pentecost from Pacific Rim Uprising

Jake Pentecost (played by John Boyega) is the son of Stacker Pentecost, arguably one of the most famous Jaeger pilots in the history of the program. And that’s a big legacy to live up to. It makes Jake reckless. And though that’s what got him kicked out of the Pan Pacific Defense League to start with, it’s also what might help him save the day in the end.

Like his father, Jake prefers to wear a neatly trimmed mustache. You can either try the fake one listed above or follow this tutorial to draw one in if growing one is not an option.

Jake also follows the uniform expected of a PPDL ranger, though he is a little more casual with it: A tan uniform shirt with the PPDL patch, a name tag, and a pilot’s pin. A white undershirt, black pants, and black combat boots. It’s a straightforward look expected of rangers in the resurrected PPDL and one Pentecost wears well as he forges a legacy all his own!

Hero Boy from The Polar Express

Hero Boy from The Polar Express

Hero Boy (also known as Chris and voiced by Daryl Sabara as a child and Tom Hanks as an adult) is the narrator of both the book and the movie The Polar Express. Though Chris is losing his faith in Christmas he is still holding out hope for the magic he once felt for the holiday. All it takes is a trip on the Polar Express to reignite the spark.

There are a couple of options when it comes to cosplaying Hero Boy. His yellow pajamas are a little hard to come by so you can either grab a pair of gold pajamas for men or a pair of yellow women’s pajamas. Both are fairly unisex in cut so it comes down to whichever would be more comfortable.

Throw on a blue robe and slip into a pair of brown leather loafers. Grab your ticket and you’re ready to ride The Polar Express!

M. Jean from The Grand Budapest Hotel

M. Jean from The Grand Budapest Hotel

M. Jean (played by Jason Schwartzman) does not have a large role in The Grand Budapest Hotel. But the size of his role does not change how important he is in the film. M. Jean is a direct contrast to Bill Murray’s M. Ivan and Ralph Fiennes’ M. Gustave. Whereas the older men did their job with polish and pride, M. Jean seems to do his job simply because it is his job. The pins on his lapels mark him as a member of The Society of the Crossed Keys but he does not have the same polish as either Ivan or Gustave. And that is the point.

Because M. Jean represents the less splendorous present life of The Gran Budapest, his uniform is much simpler than the men that came before him. He wears a simple purple suit with a red tie and white undershirt. Black dress shoes round out the clothing while a thin mustache and a cigarette complete his appearance. And, of course, the pins signifying his membership in The Society of the Crossed Keys.

rodrickheffley-diaryofawimpykid-character

Rodrick Heffley

Rodrick Heffley is the antagonist in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and movie adaptations. Like his younger brother, Greg, he doesn’t have any actual talents or skills. He enjoys heavy metal music and sleeping in late — but he hates school and putting in any effort. He plays drums for his band, Loded Diper (a misspelling of Loaded Diaper). In the first three movie adaptations, Rodrick is portrayed by Devon Bostick, as featured in this costume guide. However, for the fourth movie, he portrayed by Charlie Wright. Fans negatively criticized this recast, and the hashtag #notmyrodrick trended on social media when the trailer was released.
