Men
Crossbones from Captain America: Civil War
Brock Rumlow (played by Frank Grillo) first hit the MCU as a main villain in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. By the time Civil War rolled around he was far more dangerous that the average Hydra agent. And he had a vendetta against the Avengers, Captain America in particular. Of course by then he wasn’t Rumlow anymore, not really. He was Crossbones.
Copying Crossbones’ look will require a little bit of DIY. This will mostly involve painting a black X onto the front of a chest protector and adding the skull details to a black hard mask. You will also need to add the ammunition to some should pads to recreate Crossbones’ armed-to-the-teeth look. Under it all you should wear a black compression shirt and utility pants as well as black combat boots. A thigh holster, costume pistol, and utility belt round out the look.
Namor
Namor, also known as Namor the Sub-Mariner, is a character from the Marvel comics. His first official appearance was in Marvel Comics #1 published in 1939. As the son of a human sea captain and the princess of Atlantis, he is a mutant from a race of mermen. His abilities include super strength, flight, and aquatic abilities. He’s either portrayed as an antihero or a villain seeking revenge on land dwellers. While mostly associated with the X-Men, Namor has fought alongside the Avengers, the Defenders, and the Fantastic Four. He most recently joined the Illuminati, and has had romances with Sue Storm and Emma Frost.
Agatha Harkness from WandaVision
“It was Agatha All Along!” Finally, as many WandaVision fans expected, Agnes reveals herself to be Agatha Harkness. In the Marvel comics, she was the original witches from the Salem Witch trials, and mentors Wanda in real magic. The show seems to follow that storyline, as episode eight begins with a flashback to Agatha getting tried by her coven before wiping them out with dark magic. She breaks into Westview to try and figure out how Wanda is causing this Hex. The episode concludes with a full reveal of Agatha’s costume that was teased in the “Agatha All Along” opening, as well as the reveal of Wanda utilizing Chaos Magic, making her The Scarlet Witch. Since this outfit is pretty intricate, this guide includes some pieces for an inspired look. Layer the knit shirt over the collar and the dress, and then layer the capes for a similar feel.
Bee Gees
The Bee Gees are a music group consisting of three brothers: Robin, Barry, and Maurice Gibb. In the early sixties, the Bee Gees were a part of a pop group. Then the band reformed as a trio and branched into disco. Known for their harmonies and falsettos, the Bee Gees wrote all their own songs. Their big claim to fame was providing the soundtrack to the hit movie Saturday Night Fever with such songs as “Stayin Alive” and “You Should Be Dancing.”
Mika from Drifting Dragons
On board the Quin Zaza, draker Mika eats enough for the airship’s entire crew! After a successful dragon hunt, the first thing out of his mouth is an idea for what new food he can prepare with their latest catch. (And the first thing in is likely a dragon-meat sandwich!) Despite his apparent obsession with dragon-based cuisine, Mika is an expert Draker, albeit with slightly unorthodox methods at times.
Shulk from Xenoblade Chronicles
Shulk is the protagonist of the RPG video game Xenoblade Chronicles, and he also appears in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. He’s an 18 year old human (or “Homs” in the lore of the game) boy who prefers brains over brawn. Fourteen years prior to the game, he lost his parents during an expedition for the Monado, a powerful sword that only few can wield. Now he resides on Colony 9 where he works as an engineer and studies the Monado. The plot follows his quest to defend his home from the Mechon, a race of mechanical beings who want war with the Homs. When they attack his colony and kill his love interest, Fiona, he becomes the new wielder of the Monado. This weapon also allows him to see into the future. Shulk’s gameplay revolves around stopping the Mechon and avenging Fiona as well as learning more about the sword. Side quests reveal more about Shulk, such as his aversions to caterpillars and vegetables.
Captain James T. Kirk
Captain James Tiberius Kirk (William Shatner) is a main character in Star Trek: The Original Series. He is the first captain of the Starship Enterprise. Each episode begins with the narration of his captain’s log. His ego and heroic complex often result in violating the prime directive. Despite this, he is a respected leader who always puts his crew first. Kirk is also a known womanizer, hence kissing a sexy alien in any given episode. His closest friends are Spock and Dr. McCoy.
Richard Strickland from The Shape of Water
Colonel Richard Strickland (played by Michael Shannon) is in charge of a project designed to “study” a humanoid amphibious being found in South America. And by study I mean maltreat and eventually dissect in an attempt to learn something that might be helpful to the military. He will stop at nothing to complete his mission, his work overshadowing everything else in his life. And he does it all with that classic creepy midcentury vibe.
You can get the same vibe with just a few pieces. Pomade will slick back your hair to match Strickland’s style. A button-down shirt under a shirt, suspenders, and tie gives you a classic mid-century look. Finish it off with dark Oxfords and an overcoat and you’re ready to prowl the stark halls of every secret Army installation in Baltimore.
Peter Vincent from Fright Night (2011)
Peter Vincent (played to perfection by David Tennant) is a big time magician and alleged vampire expert in the 2011 reboot of Fright Night. Rather than the more classic vibe of the original Peter Vincent (who was likely named after veteran classic horror movie actor Vincent Price), Tennant’s Price is more like the stage magicians made popular in Vegas and on late night programming in the early 2000’s.
Tennant’s Price dresses in black leather and tight t-shirts from metal bands he likes. This includes leather boots, pants, and a long leather duster. He wears his dark hair long and favors a well-trimmed goatee over the clean shaven look of the original Vincent Price.
Black Star
Black Star is a character in the anime Soul Eater. Former member of the Spartoi and last surviving member of the Star Clan, Black Star is an assassin and shadow weapon meister. He attends Death Weapon Meister Academy, where his weapon partner is Tsubaki Nakatsukasa.
