Mary from The Muppets

Melanie Cavill (played by Jennifer Connelly) is the Voice of the Train on TNT’s TV reboot of Bong Joon-Ho’s 2013 film Snowpiercer.  Melanie is a cunning and intelligent woman who exerts her will over the passengers of the train by invoking Mr. Wilford’s name.  She is shown throughout the series to be cruel and calculating, capable of making alliances as suits her needs at the time, including an often uneasy back and forth with Andre Layton.  Melanie’s uniform consists of a blue-green skirt suit complete with a Wilford Industry pin and buttons.  During Fight Night on the train, Melanie lets her hair down in a chic black gown.

Beverly Keane (played by Samantha Sloyan) is an extremely devout parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in the Netflix mini series Midnight Mass.  Bev is an influential figure in the small community of Crockett Island, and her judgmental nature shines through as she bullies her way over Sheriff Omar Hassan and Erin Greene in meetings and supports Father Paul in his crusade to convert her neighbors back to faith.  Bev sports long auburn hair always pulled back into a braid and is never without her silver crucifix necklace.  She wears several conservative outfits throughout the course of the series, including a mid-calf floral dress with a beige cardigan during the Crock Pot Luck.  Her most iconic outfit, though, might be the simple white cassock she wears when performing her duties in church, though the garment receives some suspicious red stains by the finale.

Jo (voiced by Amanda Céline Miller) is a teenage girl who works at her mom’s diner while moonlighting as a member of the Local Heroes on the Netflix show Kid Cosmic.  When she harnesses the power of the Purple Stone, Jo becomes Portal Girl, a teleporting hero who works with the Kid.  Jo has purple hair and wears a pink and black striped shirt with black jeans and sneakers.  When working at her mom’s diner, she also wears a white visor and apron.

Rin Yamaoka was the descendant of a samurai clan and a Kendo champion.  Rin’s ancestor Kazan is also a killer in the Dead by Daylight game.  After being murdered by her father, she swore vengeance against him. The Entity used her fury and hatred of her father to turn her into a killer for its never-ending games of cat-and-mouse. As the Spirit, she appears blueish in color, with white bandages and shards of glass embedded in her body. You can use a traditional sarashi or white gauze bandages to recreate her costume, and follow an FX makeup tutorial such as this one to add the glass details. Her shattered katana blade may be made by either breaking a prop katana, or carefully painting one to make it appear broken.

Ji-Yeong (Lee Yoo Mi) is a character in the Netflix South Korean survival drama, Squid Game. She is Player 240. The audience first sees her sitting on the stairs while the players assemble their teams for Tug-of-War. Kang Sae-Byeok approaches her and says to join her team. They become friends and later pair up for the game of marbles. Rather than play immediately, the girls wait to the end so they can live longer. Introducing herself, Ji-Yeong shares that she was recently released from prison for killing her abusive father. She purposely loses the marble toss so Sae-Byeok can move forward, as she has a better purpose to win. In a tearful goodbye, she thanks Sae-Byeok for playing with her before getting shot in the head.

In the Netflix drama Squid Game, contestants like Seong Gi-Hun and Kang Sae-Byeok compete in children’s games, surrounded by armed guards and under the threat of death. The first game they play is red light, green light, opposite Mugunghwa Girl, named for the Korean version of the children’s game.
