Oono from Hi Score Girl

Oono Akira is a girl who doesn’t speak much. Despite not speaking much, she has very lively facial expressions. Oono does well in her studies and hobbies, especially gaming. She can be aggressive at times, but it’s mostly towards Haruo. Funnily, Haruo is someone who is good at reading Oono’s expressions, so they are friends. Oono and Haruo geek over games in Hi Score Girl.

Clara from Aruanas

Clara Ferreira (played by Thainá Duarte) is a new intern ready to prove her worth in her new organization. She is from a small village, and joined a cause to protect and preserve Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest. Clara had dark moments in her past, and has her own agenda to help those who have struggled as she has. Clara is learning the ropes of activism in Aruanas.

Haru from Sing “Yesterday” for Me

Haru Nonaka is a high school drop out with a pet crow, named Kansuke. She works at a cafe, which also operates as a bar, called Milk Hall. She is a bit mysterious, and prefers to keep things that way. She does open up slightly to Rikuo, and develops a crush on him. Haru fights her affection in Sing “Yesterday” For Me (Yesterday wo Utatte).

Luiza Laes (played by Leandra Leal) is an activist fighting to preserve Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest, and the people who call the Amazon “home”. She believes purpose must be greater than fear, and stands her ground. Being so head strong with a sharp tongue lands Luiza in many uncomfortable situations. Luiza passionately takes on all that is threatening the Amazon Rainforest in Aruanas.

Haiji from Run with the Wind

Haiji Kiyose is the captain of the track team he created at Kansei University. With extreme dedication, Haiji sets his eyes on the Hakone Ekiden competition. He is outgoing, friendly, a great leader, and even cooks for his teammates. He does everything, which could cause him more harm than good. Haiji balances his leadership duties in Run With The Wind (Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru).

Li Lan from The Ghost Bride

Li Lan, played by Pei-jia Huang, accepts a proposal of being a ghost bride to help with family debt. She needs to solve the mystery surrounding the death of a wealthy family’s arrogant son, essentially her ghost spouse, if she wants out of the proposal without gaining back the debt. Going in between the living world and the world of the dead, Li Lan unwillingly partners with the selfish Heavenly Guard Er Lang  to accomplishment her goal. The duo learn from each other and discover the values of life in The Ghost Bride.

Fredwynn from Dispatches From Elsewhere

Fredwynn, played by Andre Benjamin, is a smart guy, but also paranoid with conspiracy. He, along with a few other everyday people, discover a world hidden in plain sight. He’s participating in a game at JeJune Institute. Fredwynn solves puzzles and searches for what’s missing in his life in Dispatches From Elsewhere.

Sora from Someday’s Dreamers II

Sora Suzuki leaves her countryside town of Bei for a magic internship in Tokyo. To honor her late father, Sora spends her summer working towards her mage license. She’s learning what city life and city people are like as she makes new friends in Someday’s Dreamers II (Mahou Tsukai Ni Taisetsu Na Koto ~Natsu no Sora).

Takeshi from Altered Carbon

Takeshi Lev Kovacs (original face played by Will Yun Lee) is a former member of the Colonial Tactical Assault Corps. Through a series of events, he becomes a fugitive and mercenary. His cortical stack is stored without a body to be used for missions. In season 2, Takeshi wakes up 30 years later in a new body (new face played by Anthony Mackie). Takeshi comes to work with a younger version of himself in Altered Carbon season 2.

Nadine from Edge of Seventeen

Nadine Byrd, played by Hailee Steinfeld, awkwardly exists in the shadow of her super popular older brother. After her brother and her best friend, Krista, begin dating, Nadine feels she has no one left in the world. She sometimes tries to break out her awkwardness. It’s not until she develops an unexpected friendship that things look not so bad in The Edge of Seventeen.
