Lord Farquaad from Shrek

Lord Farquaad is the main antagonist in the first Shrek movie as well as the musical. In spite of his small stature, he is a ruthless ruler of Duloc. He banishes fairytale creatures from his kingdom so it’s a “perfect place.” In attempt to pursue and marry Princess Fiona, he sends Shrek and Donkey to rescue her from her tower. When Fiona becomes an ogre, he rejects her, but he meets his demise when the dragon eats him. If you want to get creative with the costume, try making a pair of little legs out. Slip the trousers and boots onto pool noodles or pipe, and stuff the ends of the boots with newspaper. Affix the legs to underneath the jacket, and wear a pair of black pants so the legs look believable. An easier route is to paint little legs onto the thighs of black pants. Kneel and drape the cape to hide your real legs, and the effect is complete!

Fiona the Fox from Sonic the Hedgehog

Fiona the Fox from Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie)

Fiona the Fox is one mean miss! She’s been with a variety of villainous crews and is particularly fond of Scourge the Hedgehog. She does have a few nice bones in her body and can do the right thing. But it all depends on how Fiona will come out in the end.

Fiona’s outfit matches her rough reputation. You can mimic her fox-like look with red ears, a red tail, a red body suit, a red wig, and face paint. Or you can just go with the ears and tail along with the rest of her outfit. The only color in her outfit is an orange hair bow, a nod to her original costume. Otherwise she wears a black crop top, black fingerless gloves, crossed black studded belts, black pants, and black boots. Boots with silver toes are hard to find but you can mimic the look with paint or metallic tape. Just be careful since either alteration is going to be permanent!

Anya from Anastasia

Anya from Anastasia

In this pseudo-historical fantasy version of Russia, Czar Nicholas’s youngest daughter survives the gruesome assassination of the royal family and grows up under the name Anya. Kaori from Your Lie in April

Kaori Miyazono is a lively violinist. She often plays to her own tune. Her free-spirited nature can get her in trouble with concert judges, but the audience loves it. Despite her deep passion for music, she is held back by a secret. Kaori carries on as if nothing is wrong, since she rather live with no regret during Your Lie in April (Shigatsu wa kimi no uso).

Hotaru from Non Non Biyori Repeat

Hotaru Ichijo lived in Tokyo before coming to the countryside of Asahigaoka. She is fascinated by the different lifestyle in the village. Hotaru loves fun, but has the appearance and attitude of an older girl, so her friends tend to depend on her. Hotaru gets used to life in the countryside with Komari, Renge, and Natsumi in Non Non Biyori Repeat.

Rose Cinderella from Regal Academy

Rose Cinderella from Regal Academy

Rose Cinderella was just a normal girl until she fell through a portal into the world of fairy tales. There she learns that she is the granddaughter of Cinderella! Voiced by Rebecca Soler (billed as Jessica Paquet), Rose is a very outgoing but clumsy girl who loves to help other people. Whether she is working with her friends or her boyfriend Hawk SnowWhite – grandson of Snow White – she is always ready to help those in need and find a happy ending!

Rose’s clothes are very colorful. She wears a pink bow in her hair, a plum blazer, a pink plaid skirt, and pink slip-on shoes. Her white button up shirt matches her white leggings except for the plum colored bands around the bottom of the leggings. Finding her exact leggings is tough but you can replicate by gluing ribbon to the bottom of white leggings. After that all you need is a long blonde wig and a black tie with yellow stripes and you’re ready for your own fairy tale adventure!

amityblight-theowlhouse-character.

Amity Blight from The Owl House

Amity Blight is a character in the Disney Channel animated series, The Owl House. She attends Hexside Academy of Magic and Demonics. Bright and competitive, Amity is a prodigious young witch. In the beginning, she exhibits hubris and looks down on others who don’t succeed like her. Although now Amity has shown a more sensitive side to her personality, such as when she bonds with her friend (and crush) Luz. You can dye the top of the wig with dark green Copic marker and the front with brown Copic marker. Then you can sew the gold button onto the cowl, and like magic, your costume is done!

Kaeda from Gal and Dino

Kaeda is a “gal”, or gyaru, living a trendy life when she accidentally lets in a dinosaur to her home. The Dino gets in when Kaeda is drunk, and when she wakes up the next morning she is surprisingly calm. Kaeda decides to host the Dino as her roommate. Kaeda feeds the Dino human food, and tries to figure out how to take care of a dinosaur in Gal and Dino.

kristoff-frozen2-character.

Kristoff in Frozen 2

Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff, who you may know as King George III from Hamilton) is a character in Frozen 2. Rugged and broad shouldered, he works as an ice harvester with his reindeer companion, Sven. In the second movie, Kristoff accompanies the two sisters to the Enchanted Forest. While there, he struggles to propose to Princess Anna. His song, “Lost in the Woods,” express these frustrations. Kristoff helps Anna destroy the dam and save Northuldra. When they reunite with Elsa, he finally proposes, and Anna says yes. This outfit is similar to the first movie, just with a change of color palette to fit the autumn theme. Use hot glue to add fur to the collar, sleeves, and bottom of the t-shirt. You might also want to trim the sash as it looks very long.
