He-Man
He-Man is the main hero of the Masters of the Universe series, which span across comic books, an animated television series, and a feature film. He must protect his home of Etheria and the secrets of the Castle Greyskull from the wicked Skeletor. His powers include super strength and impressive fighting skills with his sword and battle axe. His famous battle cry is “For the honor of Greyskull!” as now said by She-Ra in the 2018 series. This guide includes costumes for both He-Man and his normal identity, Prince Adam (who you might recognize from the viral Youtube meme “What’s Up/What’s Going On”).
Kelsey Pokoly from Craig of the Creek
Kelsey Pokoly (voiced first by Georgina Cordova and then later by Noel Wells) is the smallest and possibly youngest member of the main gang on Craig of the Creek. She is a very dramatic child with a love of books and a wild imagination that fuels her adventures.
Kelsey’s cosplay requires just a little bit of DIY but is fairly straight-forward. Pink shorts, blue rain boots, a dark blue cape, and a pet budgie are the easy-to-gather parts of the costume. A red wig will replicate her hair but it will have to be styled in a bun that sits at the back of the head.
Her shirt is where the DIY really comes in though. The chest of Kelsey’s shirt is taken up by a large, pale heart. This can be recreated on a light blue or light teal shirt with a bleach pen. Once that’s done, the costume is ready to go!
Izzy from Total Drama Island
Izzy (voiced by Katie Crown) is one of the more dynamic members of the Total Drama Island cast. She is high-strung and kind-hearted with a trusting and competitive nature.
She’s also very in tune with nature so her costume reflects that. She keeps her hair loose and wild. A green crop top, green shorts, and light green wrap make up most of her outfit. She also wears green slip-on shoes and a green wrap bracelet on one wrist.
Jeanette Miller from Alvin and the Chipmunks (2015)
Jeanette Miller (voiced by Janice Karman in the 2015 TV show) has been a supporting character on Alvin and the Chipmunks since the ’80s, having previously appeared in the original TV show, as well as the 2005 movie. Jeanette is extremely smart, but can be clumsy because of her nearsightedness. She is a member of the Chipettes along with Brittany and Eleanor, and she is also the love interest of Simon Seville. In the 2015 series, Jeanette wears purple glasses, slip on shoes, and a purple plaid shirt.
Shinobu Kocho from Demon Slayer
Shinobu Kocho is a character from the hit anime, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. Known as the Insect Pillar, she is one of the nine Hashiras of the Demon Slayer Corps. She creates lethal potions for demons to make up for her swords skills. Despite her laid back and playful personality, she harbors an intense hatred towards demons, because they killed her older sister. However she always smiles because her sister had loved her smile. Her catchphrase is “yoohoo!”
King Candy from Wreck-It Ralph
King Candy (voiced by Alan Tudyk) might look like a sweetheart but he’s the biggest villain on the track in Sugar Rush. And his villainy doesn’t stop when the flag drops. When Ralph threatens the sweet setup the King has going, he lets the big guy see the full force of his royal anger.
As the King it makes sense that King Candy’s outfit is one of the most lavish in the game. His crown is narrow but tall, sitting high on the bald dome of his head. It might be hard to find an exact match for the crown but a bald cape and some fake eyebrows repurposed for the wings on the side of his head will at least give you the royal ‘do. A purple coat with tails, a red bow tie, gold pantaloons, gold tights, and purple shoes are the most eye-catching parts of his outfit.
There is a little bit of DIY with this costumes, however. Gold harem pants can be shortened into the King’s pantaloons since finding a pair ready-made is very hard to do and expensive. And the white shirt under the coat can be accented with white paper doilies to recreate the large ruff of the King’s coat. Use a red sharpie to color in the peppermint swirls at the top of the doilies and find yourself a costume cane and you’re ready to go!
Yukiatsu from Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
Atsumu “Yukiastu” Mastuyuki is a handsome student in an elite school. He seems to have everything together. The only problem is his childhood traumas, including the unresolved grief he holds for the death of his childhood friend years ago. One day he is contacted to meet up with his old group of childhood friends in memory of the mutual friend they lost. Yukiatsu grapples with his grief and his childhood friends in Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day (Anohana Bokutachi Mada Minu).
Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender
Aang is a youthful Avatar, originating from the lost Airbender tribe. He’s discovered by a young Water Nation girl named Katara, mysteriously encased in a block of ice. His childhood began ages ago, with most of his friends from his early memories having grown up. Luckily for him, he finds friendship and camaraderie with Katara, her brother Sokka, and even an old foe. But can they keep his childish nature in check so he can save the world?
Yadina Riddle from Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum
Yadina Riddle (voiced by Zoe Hatz) is the kind of girl other little girls look up to. It’s hard not to when she grows up to be the president of the United States! Determined and curious she is the perfect companion for her brother’s adventures. And the perfect heroine in her own!
Cosplaying as Yadina is fairly easy. A black wig in short ponytails, a blue t-shirt, pink coveralls with a star painted on the chest, black converse, and a stuffed turtle toy are all you need. That and a can-do attitude!
Muichiro Tokito
Muichiro Tokito is a character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. Known as the Mist Pillar, he is one of the nine Hashiras of the Demon Slayer Corps. At fourteen years old, he is the youngest Hashira. He is aloof and unaware, usually staring at the sky instead of paying attention. Although he takes his position very seriously and proves to be an excellent swordsman. While we don’t know much about him in the anime, the manga reveals more. For instance, when he was eleven, demons killed his twin brother. And when Nezuko regains her humanity, she distinctly remembers Muichiro.
