In the Broadway musical Be More Chill, Jeremy Heere (played by Will Connolly and Will Roland) is a sweet but awkward high school junior who's a social outcast due to his nerd status. He gets bullied by the popular kid Rich Goranski, who writes "boyf" on his backpack, and has a long-time crush on Christine Canigula. He's given the chance to implant a supercomputer called Squip in his brain, which instructs him on how to become popular.
