Julie Bruin from Tiny Toon Adventures
Julie Bruin (based on and voiced by Julie Brown) is a character in the animated series Tiny Toons Adventures. She doesn’t have much screen time, but Julie appears cheerful and happy. Julie wears a sexy green dress, black gloves, black earrings, and black shoes. She has ginger hair with bangs and red lipstick. Since Julie is a bear, you can add an animal ear headband to complete the look.
Molly from the American Girl Dolls Historical Line
Nostalgia is something that is the driving factor behind so many trends online. We look back on our childhood and together we appreciate and remember things like Barbies to Bratz dolls. The internet has brought back their popularity over the past years, realizing the how great the fashion these dolls have and one of these that have been trending recently, are the historic line of the American Girl Dolls. American Girl Dolls were very popular in the early 2000s. They came with books of their stories and each are from different time periods.
In this I’ll be covering how you can create a costume after the doll Molly. Molly is one of the iconic dolls from the line and her story is one that takes place in the 1940s. To dress like Molly, wear a blue sweater under a red printed sweater vest. With this wear a navy skirt, a navy beret, white frilly socks, black Mary Jane shoes, silver round glasses, and a red crossbody bag. Wear your hair in two braids and tie red ribbons on each into bows.
Chappell Roan from The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess Album Cover
Chappell Roan is a quickly rising singer-songwriter that has a unique style when it comes to her stage costumes. She is inspired by drag and isn’t afraid to go all out glam in her performances. Her fans have taken a love to her style and share their concert-going costumes and outfits online, showing off their creativity by recreating her looks and making their own.
One look that would be great to recreate is from her album cover: The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. To create this look, start with a turquoise blue gown with one-shoulder. Attach various sizes of AB rhinestones or gemstones along the top and over the shoulder. Over this create the white sash by taking a blank white sash and attaching silver rhinestoned letters across it. You can also add rhinestones all over this. Wear your hair up with a small silver tiara. She also wears white gloves with rhinestones covering them. For makeup, use a white powder or foundation with pink blush, and a hint of yellow above that and purple eyeshadow. If you want to carry props, take a pink bouquet of faux flowers and a silver cup trophy.
Allen Llewellyn from AliceMare
Allen is the main player character in the RPGMaker game, AliceMare, created by Miwashiba.
All of the characters in AliceMare are based off of characters from various fairytales, and Allen’s inspiration is Alice from Alice in Wonderland. While most of the other characters are from different stories, two of the major characters Allen interacts with are the Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit.
Allen has short, fluffy blonde hair, and soft blue eyes. His main outfit is thematically Alice inspired, with a long sleeved white button up shirt, a small red and blue bolo tie with a gold clasp, dark blue wide leg shorts connected to similarly colored suspenders, knee high blue and white striped socks, and dark blue mary jane-styled shoes.
Huckleberry Pie from Strawberry Shortcake
Huckleberry Pie is one of the only male characters from the Strawberry Shortcake franchise, appearing in numerous series. He is a fisherman and one of Strawberry Shortcake’s friends. He also has a puppy named Pupcake.
To dress like Huckleberry, wear a straw bucket hat and attach faux blueberries or huckleberries at the side (I’ve attached blueberries in this case as they’re brighter in color like the original design). Wear a purple sweater over blue overalls. Roll the legs of the overalls into cuffs, then take green and white striped fabric and cover it either by sewing or glueing, hiding the seams in the folded areas. You can also use this fabric to cut out a large square to tie as a bandana to wear around your neck, and if you’d like to take the costume even further, carry any stuffed dog and cover it ears and one paw in the striped fabric by glueing or sewing like patches.

One look that would be great to recreate is one she did inspired by the iconic drag queen, divine. At the base wear an animal print bodysuit and fishnet tights. Over this, wear a red square neck, fitted maxi-dress and add red rhinestones to the front with glue. Tease your hair and wear similar makeup with bright blues on the eyes, a bright pink blush, thin pencil eyebrows, a nude lined lip, and a beauty mark.
Sabrina Carpenter from Please Please Please
Sabrina Carpenter has been going viral online for one of her new songs and music video Please Please Please, and features her actual boyfriend Barry Keoghan.
Her vintage and early 2000s inspired looks are so fabulous and can be recreated yourself. For her pink coat look, wear a pink fluffy coat over a white crop top, a black mini skirt or shorts, black stockings with a lace trim, black platform heels, and a pink ribbon necklace with gold heart charm. Another can be recreated with a blue velvet dress, a blue scarf, black sunglasses, the same black stockings, and black gloves.
Chappell Roan from Gov Ball 2024
Chappell Roan is a quickly rising singer-songwriter that has a unique style when it comes to her stage costumes. She is inspired by drag and isn’t afraid to go all out glam in her performances. Her fans have taken a love to her style and share their concert-going costumes and outfits online, showing off their creativity by recreating her looks and making their own.
One look that would be great to recreate is from one that has been taking the internet by storm: her Statue of Liberty look from Gov Ball. This costume is a little more work than others to create but can be done by an artist of any level. To create this look, we’ll start with the makeup. The exact foundation she used is linked, a green body foundation that should be mixed with white to get the lighter and more muted green color. This would be applied on the face, neck, ears, chest, back and arms. Also take green body glitter and apply at highlight points on your arms and chest. Chappell also applies the paint to her legs but if you’d like to make this more wearable, wear light green tights I’ve also linked. Over those you can wear green short bike shorts. For face makeup, use a dark green eyeshadow for contour and to add dimension back to the face. You could also add more white to the high points of your face. For eyes, darken your eyebrows with black or a very dark green. Also add silver face rhinestones over the highlights. Use silver, black, white, and deep green for the eyes. For the lips, wear a green lipstick and top with a metallic green gloss or even a metallic green eyeshadow. Paint your nails green or wear green acrylics.
For her Statue of Liberty headpiece, take a costume one as a base and glue on silver mirror tiles all over it. For the handheld torch prop, you can leave as is or cover in glitter with corresponding colors. To create her clothing: wear a light green tube top, green short bike shorts as mentioned earlier, and use a wide green waist belt as the base for the skirt. Cut strips of light and dark green faux leather or fabrics and attach silver snaps down each of them. Attach these around the wide waist belt, and this will act as the skirt. You can also do the same with the dark green strips on her shoulders, attaching it to the tube top with snaps. For her necklace, create it using any NYC themed charms and attaching them to a necklace.
Mifune from Soul Eater
Mifune (voiced in Japanese by Kenjiro Tsuda and in English by Robert McCollum) is a secondary character in the anime/manga series, Soul Eater.
He once served as a bodyguard for criminal organizations, due to his status as a legendary samurai, but when we first see him in the series, he is acting as a guardian and protector of a very young witch, Angela Leon. She isn’t strong enough to protect herself, so she relies on him to stay safe, as witches are very targeted.
Mifune has long, dusty blonde hair, and mid-toned brown eyes. For this outfit (he has a few), he wears a long sleeved white shirt with ‘osamurai’ written on the chest, ankle length blue jeans with frayed ends, with a thick black belt, and tan sandals. He carries around a case with a large amount of swords.
Lenore Vandernacht from Nevermore
Lenore Vandernacht is one of the two main characters of the webtoon Nevermore. Her name is derived from several Edgar Allen Poe poems as is that of her love interest and the other main character of the series, Annabel Lee. Prior to her brother Theo’s death, Lenore had long black hair, which turned partially white from shock in the aftermath. She cut it short after she escaped the attic where she was drugged and held following the accident which injured her and killed Theo. In the afterlife, Lenore finds herself at Nevermore Academy, where she no longer has to rely on a cane or wheelchair, but maintains her short hair. She wears a uniform consisting of a white blouse with ruffled cuffs, a black tailcoat, light colored pants, and black riding boots. To add the finishing touch to your costume, use a black eyeliner pencil to add twin beauty marks under your eyes and add a dark burgundy lipstick.
