Colossus from Deadpool

Colossus from Deadpool

Colossus (played by Stefan Kapicic) is one of two or three mutants that join Deadpool in his movies. According to the movies, the others are busy (or avoiding Wade). If you ask Deadpool, though, the studio just couldn’t afford to license more from Fox. Ouch. Either way Colossus is a somewhat reluctant ally for the merc with a mouth and one Deadpool sorely needs.

You don’t need the X-gene to copy Colossus’ look thankfully. To copy his metal-coated skin you can either use a silver bodysuit and black marker for the body then use silver and black body paint for your face and hands. Or, if you prefer the paint over the bodysuit, you can use just the paint. You’ll need a few paintbrushes to pull off the finer detail, though.

Recreating Colossus’ clothing is a little bit easier. A black zip-up bike vest and red paint copies the most detailed part of his look while black pants, a black tactical belt, and black boots finish off the look.

In the game Dead by Daylight, Jane Romero is an influential celebrity who used her fame and platform to confront problems head-on with poise.  The daughter of a famous actress, Jane went on to eventually host her own hour-long talk show and her name was associated with a broad range of popular products.  As a survivor in the realms of the Entity, she uses her skills to tackle the killers head-on and heal herself and others in the never-ending game of cat-and-mouse.

Cataleya Restrepo from Colombiana

Cataleya Restrepo from Colombiana

Cataleya Restrepo (played to perfection by Zoe Saldana) knew her life’s path from a young age. When her father’s employer ordered a hit on her family, only Cataleya made it out alive. The little girl – who once dreamed of being Xena, Warrior Princess – dedicated her life instead to ending the people who took her family from her.

Her line of work means that she has a wide wardrobe. Whatever it takes to get the job done.

The first outfit we see her in is a party dress, black bra, short wig, and gold heels with red bottoms. Red-bottomed shoes tend to be expensive however so you’ll have to DIY your own with some standard gold stilettos and red acrylic paint. It’s a cover, of course. And as soon as she’s alone she strips off the dress and puts on a black catsuit she concealed in her dress in order to assassinate a target housed in another part of the police precinct she was brought to.

A second outfit is a black bathing suit with sleeves, allowing her to swim more easily through a very large tank housing two sharks. A long dark with tied back in a bun is the only other piece you will need for this costume along with invisible shoes such as those in this tutorial.

When she is dressed as herself, though, Cataleya opts for highly detailed black leather jackets, skinny jeans, heeled ankle boots, and comfortable flowing tees. She typically wears her hair down which you can recreate with a long, dark wig styled with waves. Her guns are not easy to see in these outfits, so a shoulder holster is most likely what she uses since she keeps her jackets closely fitted.

Circe from DC Comics

Circe

Circe first appeared in 1949 as one of Wonder Woman’s antagonists. As an immortal sorceress she’s a little hard to beat. Thankfully the good guys manage it every time. And I do mean every time. Like a good villain Circe makes repeat appearances, often changing in appearance but consistent in her evil.

This version of Circe might not be the first form she took but it is one of the most popular for cosplays. It gets back to the Greek roots of the character. She was adapted from one of the villains in Homer’s The Odyssey and you definitely get the vibe of an ancient Grecian island witch with this version of Circe.

The first thing you’ll need is a long black wig. Circe’s hair color changes with every iteration of her character but this time her hair is jet black. As an added bonus you can also use this wig for a Morticia Addams cosplay if you’re going to a multi-day convention!

Once you have your wig you’ll need a green dress in a very tight but flowing style. After that you’ll need a whole lot of gold accessories: bangles, a belt, a chalice, and an arm band. Skin tone skippers give you something close to a barefoot look. If that’s not quite your style or you can’t find a slipper in the right shade you can make a pair of invisible shoes like these.

Stella from Winx Club

Stella from Winx Club

Stella (voiced by Amy Gross in the English versions and Perla Liberatori in the Italian versions) is one of the six core members of the Winx club. She is also the Fairy of Sun and the princess of her home planet Solaria. Her fiance Brandon is a student at the Red Fountain school where he trains in weapons combat to balance Stella’s magical abilities.

If you like the color orange then cosplaying as Stella is perfect for you. From an orange cold shoulder top to an orange skirt and orange boots it is her favorite color. She even wears orange earrings. Stella’s only other color is a silver head band, a set of silver gauntlets, her white wings, and her long blonde hair.

Greendale Human Being

In the hit sitcom Community, the Greendale Human Being is the school mascot for Greendale Community College. Created by Pierce Hawthorne and Dean Pelton, they are a genderless, anthropomorphic, non-offensive “being.” With the black fabric marker, draw two black dots for the eyes and a wide smile on the zentai mask.

Maria from Disjointed

Maria from Disjointed

Maria (played by Nicole Sullivan) starts out as just another customer at Ruth’s Alternative Caring. Before long she’s made herself at home with the staff while she avoid a, let’s say, less than ideal marriage. Over the course of the show she becomes as much a fixture at the dispensary as any of the staff and becomes a close friend to Ruth. Maria even seems to find love in the show’s final episode, despite her earlier troubles.

Cosplaying as Maria is fairly straightforward. Start with her signature blonde hair then add in a cardigan and a  colorful shirt. A pair of tight jeans and heeled sandals completes the look. Of course Maria is usually seen with a vape pen too. We can’t recommend one but if you’ve got one already, it would make a great accessory! (Just make sure they’re allowed at whatever convention you’re attending!)
