The Hillbilly from Dead by Daylight
Max Thompson, Jr. was born deformed and spent most of his life locked away from the world by his mother and father. When he finally broke out, he brutally killed them both. Later, he continued his rampage by butchering animals and any trespassers who came onto his property. Now known as the Hillbilly, he slaughters survivors and sacrifices them to the Entity in the horror game Dead by Daylight. The Hillbilly is covered in roughly scarred skin. To achieve this effect on your face, you can use sculpting wax and 3D FX gel. If you plan to continue the look down your arms, using a flesh colored shirt can make it easier; by pinching pieces of the fabric together and gluing them, you can mimic the rippled texture of the Hillbilly’s character design.
Human Torch
Human Torch, aka Johnny Storm, is a member of the Fantastic Four. Aboard Mr. Richards’ spacecraft, he became exposed to cosmic radiation, which gave him superpowers. He now has the ability to engulf his entire body in flames, absorb fire into his body, and control nearby fire. Did we mention he can fly too? He is the brother of Invisible Woman, aka Sue Storm. Compared to his compassionate older sister and sensible brother-in-law, Johnny can be impulsive and reckless. His catchphrase is “Flame on!” — usually exclaimed upon activating his full body fire powers. To turn up the heat on this cosplay, you can some use face paint, flame decals, or red and yellow tissue paper for fire effects.
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bennet
Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bennet is the protagonist of Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice. She is unconventional because she refuses to submit to expectations of British high society. Whereas her mother urges her to marry, Elizabeth feels perfectly capable on her own, and much rather prefers the company of her eldest sister, Jane. Although she is playful and good natured, her judgmental attitude gets the best of her, as seen by a strong dislike of Mr. Darcy. In the end, Elizabeth learns not to hold initial prejudices because people’s real character can surprise her. This realization leads to an reconsideration of Darcy’s proposal, and the two get happily married. In the 2005 film adaptation, famous actress Keira Knightley plays Elizabeth.
Penny from The Big Bang Theory
On The Big Bang Theory, Penny (played by Kaley Cuoco) is the catalyst of the entire series when she moves in across the hall from Sheldon and his roommate Leonard, her eventual husband. Penny’s clothing changes a lot throughout the 12 seasons, which mirrors her career movements as well. Some of her most iconic clothing includes her Cheesecake Factory uniform, the daisy dukes shorts and pink tops she is known for in the early seasons while she is trying to become an actress, and her pink business suit from the series finale after she has established herself as a successful sales rep at a pharmaceutical company.
Yen Sid
Yen Sid is a character from the 1940 animated movie, Fantasia. He is a powerful sorcerer whose magic mainly comes from his hat. In the segment The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, his goal is to teach Mickey Mouse all he knows about magic. Later he appears in the Kingdom Hearts video games. Fun fact: If you spell his name backwards, it spells Disney. We don’t think that’s a coincidence at all.
Regina George from Mean Girls the Musical
Regina George is the main antagonist in the musical adaptation of Mean Girls. Similar to the movie, she is the queen bee of North Shore High School and leader of the Plastics. She befriends Cady and takes advantage of her naiveté. According to her introduction in “Meet the Plastics,” she is a massive deal. However Janis warns Cady of Regina, saying she’s the “apex predator.” Regina herself several standout songs such as “Someone Gets Hurt” and “World Burn.” Taylor Louderman originated the role on Broadway. Her outfit is trendy, preppy, and of course includes lots of pink for Wednesdays.
The Plague from Dead by Daylight
Adiris was a young priestess at the Temple of Purgation. When a plague spread across the land and the Holy Men each fell ill, it fell to her to don the robes of her goddess and perform the rites for the disease-stricken masses. Eventually, she fell ill as well, and when she could no longer hide the infection behind crowns and incense censers, she exiled herself and prayed to god for salvation. The Entity of Dead by Daylight answered her prayers and now she serves it as a killer known as the Plague, sacrificing survivors to appease its endless appetite. The Plague is a great costume for someone who wants to take some time and get creative with their use of prosthetics, and the juxtaposition of her beautiful clothing with her disease-ridden body will certainly make for a big visual impact.
Mr. Whiskers from Brandy & Mr. Whiskers
Mr. Whiskers (voiced by Charlie Adler) is a hyperactive rabbit trapped in the Amazon rainforest in the Disney Channel show Brandy & Mr. Whiskers. Along with a pampered pooch named Brandy, Mr. Whiskers falls out of an airplane and becomes stranded in the jungle. The pair are forced to survive together while making new friends. Mr. Whiskers is a white rabbit in an orange jumpsuit, making this is a simple look to recreate with just a few layered pieces and some face makeup.
Gaston from Beauty and the Beast
Ask any Tom, Dick, or Stanley, and they’ll tell you they want to be on Gaston’s team! After all, no one hits, matches wits, or spits (well, expectorates) quite like him — and his antler-decorating skills are unmatched in all of Gaston’s provincial French village! Gaston (voiced by Richard White) sure has let the praise his followers bestow upon him get to his head. He acts like he’s Walt Disney’s gift to women, much to the chagrin of one Belle.
Edgar from Brawl Stars
Edgar is an Epic Brawler from the popular mobile video game Brawl Stars. Edgar has an edgy, emo-inspired look that includes a studded belt, fingerless gloves, and a pop of bright red on his shirt. Whatever you do, don’t forget his signature scarf because it’s also used in some of his attacks in the game.
