Xavier Riddle from Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum
Xavier Riddle (voiced by Aidan Vissers) is the main character on the PBS Kids show Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum. He is the older brother of Yadina and a friend of Brad Metzler. Xavier is an energetic kid who loves to learn and meet historical figures by traveling back in time. He has many interests, and particularly loves art and basketball.
To make Xavier’s unique hoodie, you can start with a red pullover and then add details. The antennae can be made by gluing pipe cleaners and yellow pom poms together, and you can paint the “X” on with black fabric markers. Red behind-the-head ear muffs will evoke the helmet-like look of Xavier’s sweatshirt.
Lori from Total Recall
Lori played by Sharon Stone in Total Recall is a major antagonist. She is a spy working for Vilos Cohaagen and pretending to be Douglas Quaid‘s devoted wife. Lori is in the middle of exercise when Doug rushes home after a Rekall appointment turned to violence. He exclaims to Lori his friends and others were now trying to kill him. Lori tells him to stay calm leaves the room to go get help. She returns with bullets and starts shooting at him. Lori tells Quaid he has had a memory implant before and years of his memories are simply fictional. Lori was never his wife to begin with and simply was there to keep an eye on him. Lori tries to trick him one last time and tells Quaid that she would like to show him what kind of woman she really is. Quaid does not trust her and soon realizes she has called for back up. He knocks Lori out and escapes. One of the men approaching turns out to be Lori’s real husband Richter. Lori wears Jane Fondaesque work out gear and mixes bright colors with suspender leggings. This costume is a simple easy choice for Halloween night or any sci-fi movie convention.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs from NCIS
Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon) is a gruff, hard-boiled NCIS Special Agent with a heart of gold. Despite his prickly exterior, Gibbs develops a strong, almost fatherly bond with several members of his team, especially forensic scientist Abby Sciuto. Gibbs is rarely seen without a cup of piping hot black coffee in hand, and if you happen upon him without one, you’d better run. Regardless of his mood, he’s known for slapping his team members upside the head and rebuking them with a long list of his rules for life.

Harley Quinn from DC Universe
Harley Quinn is the protagonist of her own self titled series on DC Universe. You might recognize her voice actress, Kaley Cuoco, from The Big Bang Theory. After splitting up with the Joker, Harley forms her own league of villains, including King Shark, Clayface, Doctor Psycho, and Cy Borgman. The show follows her misadventures of taking down the Joker. Eventually, Harley develops a romantic relationship with Poison Ivy.
Bill and Ted Face the Music
Excellent! Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) are back in the awaited sequel, Bill & Ted Face the Music. The comedic duo returns as middle aged dads with their daughters, Billie and Thea. Now they must create a song that will save Earth and the entire universe. Check out the costume guide for Bill and Ted from the first movie here.
Morana from Castlevania
Morana voiced by Yasmine Al Massri in the Netflix animated series Castlevania is one of the show’s antagonists. She is a member of The Council of Sisters and serves as both the strategist and economist. Morana has been the face ruling Styria while Carmilla has been away. Morana and Striga work in unison to keep the kingdom running. The two have been romantic partners for a very long time and rely on each other for thoughtful decision making when it comes to the kingdom. Morana’s color schemes include royal blue, white, gold, and wine red. For this outfit, I suggest closing the Royal Blue Long Sleeve Bolero Cardigan with the Gold Stone and Chain Brooch. If you’d like you can look up tutorials to do a full eyelid winged liner look with the blue eyeliner. Another important tip is that you can use your everyday liquid foundation on the Long Elf Ears. Dab it on with a beauty blender so it will match your skin tone. This ornate costume will surely have you standing out from the crowd at any cosplay event.
Magda from Penny Dreadful: City of Angels
Magda (played by Natalie Dormer of Game of Thrones fame) is a shapeshifting demon with a taste for meddling in the affairs of mortals. She has several looks throughout the show, three of which have been recreated here.
For Elsa, you will need a blonde wig and a dress in the style of the 1930s. The heels for this costume can also be worn with the costume for Alex, the next person. As Alex is older and a personal assistant her clothes are a little more formal. She wear a wool skirt and blazer along with a white button up shirt.
If you want to dress as Magda in her natural form, you’ll want a sweeping black dress, black button boots, and an auburn wig. Her makeup is more stark in this form as well while both Alex and Elsa wear more natural looks.
Dry Eye from The Gentlemen
In Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen, Dry Eye (played by Henry Golding) is a gangster who works for Lord George, though he soon deviates from his boss’ plans in order to secure his own fortune and place in the world. Dry Eye makes an offer to Mickey Pearson for his cannabis business in order to drive the price down for another man, but this soon proves to be a mistake. Dry Eye’s most striking clothing choice are his leopard print loafers that he wears when confronting Mickey’s wife Rosalind toward the end of the film.
Kitty Pryde
Katherine “Kitty” Pryde, aka Shadowcat, is a member of the X-Men. Her powers include phasing and intangibility, which lets her simulate levitation. In the comics, she joins the Guardians of the Galaxy and actually takes over as Star Lord. In the Marauders series (not related to the Marauders in Harry Potter, but wouldn’t that be a cool crossover!), she’s currently known as Red Queen. The comics also highlight her Jewish heritage. And did you know her companion, a purple dragon named Lockheed, is actually a highly intelligent alien?
