Men
Nagito Komaeda from Danganronpa
Nagito Komaeda (voiced by Megumi Ogata and Bryce Papenbrook) is one of the students in class 77-B at Hope’s Peak Academy in the Danganronpa anime series. Nagito is a sickly-looking boy with pale skin and faded pink-ish hair. His original costuming includes an army green jacket, black jeans, and tan boots, while his appearance in Danganronpa 3 includes a brown suit, tie, and red and green vest. Finding a vest in the right colors might be difficult, so focus on the deep-V design in order to emulate the silhouette and get as close to the original as possible.
Niko Bellic from Grand Theft Auto 4
Niko Bellic (voiced by Michael Hollick) is a complicated man. He’s not always on the right side of the law but he stands by his own moral code. From helping the defenseless to avoiding illegal drugs, Niko lives his life the only way that makes sense to him after surviving the Yugoslav Wars.
His style ties right into that. He wears running pants, a turtleneck, a zip up windbreaker, and a brown coat that are all easy to move in. Heavy boots and fingerless black gloves mean the look is year round. And in Niko’s line of work you don’t want to go anywhere without a pistol or a baseball bat. Just make sure you check the regulations for whatever convention you’re going to. Some might have restrictions on what type of weapons are allowed with cosplay.
Jack Dawson from Titanic
Jack Dawson (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) is the tragic hero of James Cameron’s Titanic. While audiences went into the film knowing the ship would sink at the end, they had no way of knowing how much Jack and Rose’s romance would mean to them. Or how hard it would be to get through the end of the film.
Jack is a great cosplay option. His early century style lends means that most of the pieces can be used in other looks while still being classic Jack. Start with a pair of classic trousers designed for use with suspenders. Add in tan suspenders, a white undershirt, a brown shirt, and brown boots to corner Jack’s original look. You can also opt for a linen shirt with a low collar for a more relaxed look. Just don’t forget the hair pomade to style your hair in something close to Jack’s flyaway look. And what Jack would be complete without his sketchbook and pencils?
Joe from The Old Guard
Once known as Yusuf Al-Kaysani, a Muslim warrior from the time of the Crusades, Joe (played by Marwan Kenzari) is now an immortal soldier in Netflix’s The Old Guard. Joe has fought beside Andy, Booker, and his lover Nicky for centuries, and he welcomes their newest member Nile alongside his comrades.
The Deathslinger from Dead by Daylight
Caleb Quinn was an Irish-American engineer turned prisoner after he nearly killed his boss for stealing his inventions and selling them to other companies for a profit. Caleb struck a deal with the prison warden to fill the Hellshire Penitentiary, he fashioned a speargun that could capture convicts alive. His macabre device earned him the nickname the Deathslinger, and he now uses it to spear and sacrifice survivors to the Entity of Dead by Daylight. To recreate the Deathslinger’s quintessentially Western look, a simple cowboy costume will suffice. However, some additional creativity may be required to make his signature spear gun weapon by attaching a prop spear to a prop rifle with a vintage look. Liquid latex can be used to create the wound on his cheek, and also to help tear and bloody his knuckles.
Tadaomi Karasuma from Assassination Classroom
Tadaomi Karasuma is a supporting character in the comedic anime Assassination Clasroom. He’s an agent sent from Japan’s Ministry of Defense to monitor Korosensei at Kunugigoka Junior High School. He was hired as the physical education and assistant teacher for Class 3-E. Karasuma is strict yet kind, and prefers not to get particularly close with the students due to his profession. He’s not completely incapable of emotion but he’s rather oblivious when it comes to romantic feelings.
Gakuhō Asano from Assassination Classroom
Gakuho Asano is a minor character in the comedic anime Assassination Classroom. He is the board chairman of Kunugigaoka Junior High School and the antagonist of the first half of the series. His obsession with a perfect education solidifies his priorities, in which he will put perfecting and maintaining pedagogy over anything else. This leads to a strained relationship with his son, Gakushu Asano, the student council president, as he only views him as a tool to perfecting the system. When a student takes his own life, Gakuho realizes his morality is skewed and blames himself. As a result, he becomes more mellow and less condescending in his teaching methods.
Skurge from Thor: Ragnarok
Skurge is a character you both love to hate and hate to love. In Thor: Ragnarok, he quickly abandons his people to serve Hela on her return to Asgard. But in the end he throws himself to battle against her, trying to right the wrongs of his previous choices. Of course it might just be Karl Urban’s portrayal that gives Skurge the humorous charm he seems to have. But you be the judge of that!
Skurge’s costume is exclusively comprised of a complex set of armor. The one listed above is from another movie but looks very similar. If you add in a bald cap, face paint to recreate his tattoos, a fake goatee, and a sword, you’re ready to defend Asgard!
Mister Fantastic
Mister Fantastic, aka Reed Richards, is the leader of the Fantastic Four. With an incredible knowledge of biology, chemistry, and physics among other many sciences, he is credited as the smartest character in the Marvel universe. In fact, he invented the very spacecraft that became exposed to the radiation which gave the team their powers. Now he has the ability to stretch his limbs into any shape. Mister Fantastic acts as a close friend and mentor to the Fantastic Four. Invisible Woman, aka Sue Storm, is his wife, which makes Human Torch, Johnny Storm, his brother-in-law.
Yuno from Black Clover
Yuno (voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki and Micah Solusod) is an orphan raised at the Hage church alongside his foster brother Asta in the anime series Black Clover. Yuno is proficient in his use of the magic arts and eventually receives a four-leaf clover grimoire to aid him in his quest to become the Magic Emperor. Yuno wears a black tunic and short pants with boots, as well as a pendant that he was wearing when he was left at the church as a baby. You will need two belts to wear crossed around your hips to finish his look, and you can also add the cape he wears after becoming a Magic Knight if you wish.
