Men
Deuce Gorgon
Deuce Gorgon is a character from the Monster High franchise. He is a gorgon, specifically the son of Medusa. He is in a relationship with Cleo de Nile. He is the hottest boy at Monster High, known for his reliable, relaxed personality. While he’s not captaining the casketball team, Deuce enjoys cooking. With dolls, cartoons, and a live action movie, Deuce has many different styles. Therefore, our costume guide features a variety of pieces to assemble a unique outfit. Black and green are his main colors with pops of red. His style is skater punk with snake accents. For his shoulder scales, apply green face paint or eyeshadow using a mesh wig cap or fishnet tights as a stencil.
JD from Heathers
Jason Dean, better known as “JD” (played by Christian Slater), is the teen with a sadistic side in the 80s dark comedy Heathers. New to town, JD and Veronica quickly turn their high school upside down in their quest to exact revenge against the most popular students. JD’s look embodies the outsider aesthetic. He is portrayed wearing a long trench coat, black motorcycle boots, and a silver hoop earring no matter what the rest of his costume entails. Though he wears several outfits during the course of the film, JD’s triumphant end comes in black jeans and a black-and-white graphic tee. Tracking down a replica isn’t easy, so don’t be afraid to go for a plain black tee instead. Strap your dynamite on and bandage up your left hand, and don’t be shy about the blood.
Sam from The Last of Us (HBO)
Sam (played by Keivonn Woodard) is the deaf younger brother of Henry in the HBO series The Last of Us. When Henry and Sam are hunted by Kathleen, the two make a plan with Joel and Ellie to leave Kansas City and travel with the pair to Wyoming. Sam is deaf, and he communicates via American Sign Language with his older brother, and also through the use of a magnetic notepad. He wears a yellow hoodie under a blue jacket and has orange face paint that looks like a superhero mask on his face, courtesy of Henry. If you can’t find a jacket that’s quilted exactly like Sam’s, a plain puffer jacket will do.
Junpei from 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors
Junpei (voiced in Japanese by Tatsuhisa Suzuki and in English by Evan Smith) is the main player character of the first game in the Zero Escape game series, 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors.
He ends up getting dragged into the second Nonary Game by getting kidnapped and forced to play, and then ends up subsequently being dragged into all the following games that occur throughout the rest of the series. The main person he’s close to through during these following games is his childhood friend, Akane Kurashiki.
Junpei has shaggy brown hair and matching brown eyes, and dresses very comfortably. He has a red flannel button up shirt, with a white hooded vest worn over that, and a bright blue and red vest on top. His pants are dark blue loose capri pants, and his shoes are blue and red detailed sneakers.
Austin Moon from Austin & Ally
Austin Moon (played by Ross Lynch) is one of the main characters of the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally. He is a confident performer who clashes with shy Ally Dawson before the two eventually hit it off and fall in love. Austin’s style is clean-cut with some alternative influence. You can’t go wrong with some comfortable dark jeans and a colored plaid or button-down shirt. Don’t forget your wallet chain and bright blonde wig to complete the look.
Dagger from Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus
Dagger (voiced in Japanese by Nobuhiko Okamoto and in English by Michael Sinterniklaas) is one of the secondary main characters in the Book of Circus arc in the anime/manga Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler.
He is one of the first-string members of the Noah’s Ark Circus troupe, and their resident juggler and knife thrower. He tends to be a bit hot-headed when it comes to other people approaching Beast, but is generally rather friendly to others around him.
Dagger has light green eyes with purpley-red eyeshadow around them, red makeup dots on his cheeks, and blonde hair with black bangs (he had black hair as a child, it appears to be bleached). His outfit colors are similar to Snake’s, with a few more pops of colors. Dagger wears a red and black hat off-center on his head, a black and white striped shirt with a ruffled collar, a tan vest over top, black capri-style pants with a skirt piece over top, and black and white boots.
Tyler Galpin from Wednesday
Tyler Galpin is a character in Netflix’s Wednesday. He is a boy-next-door type “normie.” His father is the sheriff, though their relationship is tense due to his mother’s death. We first meet Tyler at the Weathervane Cafe where he works as a barista. Wednesday helps him fix the espresso machine in exchange for help escaping Nevermore. When she decides to stay and investigate the murders in Jericho, Tyler tries to woo Wednesday by accompanying her to the Rave’N and planning a date night in Crackstone’s crypt.
Ajax in Wednesday
Ajax Petropolus (Georgie Farmer) is a minor character in Netflix’s Wednesday. He is a Gorgon (like Medusa) and attends Nevermore Academy as a student. Shy and awkward, Ajax is anxious to make eye contact with anybody. Enid has a huge crush on him, but he is oblivious to her flirting. Sometimes he hangs out with Xavier or just lingers in the background. Use the fabric paint to make the stripes on the blazer.
Seymour Krelborn from Little Shop of Horrors
Seymour Krelborn is the main character of Little Shop of Horrors. He works at the flower shop on Skidrow owned by Mr. Mushnik. Shy and meek, he has a huge crush on Audrey. One day, suddenly (pun intended) Seymour finds a strange plant and names it Audrey II. But the plant needs human blood to grow, putting Seymour in an awful dilema. Rick Moranis portrays Seymour in the 1986 movie adaptation.
Phinks Magcub from Hunter x Hunter
Phinks Magcub (voiced in Japanese by Kenichirō Ōhashi and in English by David Vincent) is part of the Phantom Troupe in the anime/manga HunterxHunter.
He’s one of the strongest members of the troupe, with a nen ability centered around extremely strong punch throwing. Phinks is one of the original founding members of the troupe, having known Chrollo since they were kids.
He has dirty blonde hair, often worn pulled back tightly, and speck-like eyes. While he does have another outfit that he’s seen wearing, the one we mostly see him in is this tracksuit-like one. A matching emerald green tracksuit with white and red detailing, and grey-blue detailed sneakers to top it all off.
