Alexander Hamilton is the title character of the musical Hamilton. Based on the biography by Ron Chernow, the musical details his life from coming to the colonies up until his death in the duel against Aaron Burr. Self-described as “young, scrappy, and hungry,” Alexander is set on helping shaping America gain its independence and lay its foundation, namely with the Constitution. He lets his voice be heard and refuses to throw away his shot. Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the music, lyrics, and script — as well as originated the role on Broadway! This costume guide includes his soldier outfit from Act I.

They’re looking for a mind at work! The Schuyler sisters, Angelica, Eliza, and Peggy, are characters from the musical Hamilton. Angelica (Renee Elise Goldsberry) is the oldest sister who is reading “Common Sense” by Thomas Paine. She exhibits intellect and selflessness. Despite her romantic feelings towards Alexander Hamilton, she puts Eliza’s happiness over her own, and comes to her defense upon the release of the Reynolds Pamphlet. Eliza (Phillipa Soo) is the middle sister who is “helpless” for Alexander and becomes his wife. She continues his legacy after his death, such as raising funds for the Washington monument and establishing the first private orphanage in New York City. Peggy (Jasmine Cephas-Jones) is the youngest sister, nervous about being out after sundown — she’s really only known for her line “and Peggy!”

Anne Boleyn was the real-life wife of Henry VIII. The mother of Queen Elizabeth I, Anne was beheaded shortly after her daughter’s death after being falsely charged with several crimes against the crown. Though her story was largely untold in the centuries following her death she has been given a voice in more modern times in both academic and pop culture circles. One such outlet for Anne’s story is Six! The Musical, an edgy take on the lives (and deaths) of Henry’s six wives where Millie O’Connell plays Boleyn.

Cosplaying as this particular version of Anne Boleyn takes a little bit of DIY. All of the musical’s costumes are very unique and you aren’t likely to find an exact match. To get her look you want to get a bright green dress and use tape to create the black gridwork pattern seen in the show. The original dress’ grid is made of small studs but you can start with basic black tape and upgrade if you decide to keep the costume going.

A connected high-neck collar and set of cap sleeves finished the dress while black nylons, black-heeled boots, green hair bows, and Anne’s signature “B” pendant finish off the outfit. The musical’s version of Anne also has several piercings and prefers bright green eye makeup, so a few fake piercings and shimmering green makeup are must-haves.

Connor Murphy is a character in the musical Dear Evan Hansen. Not much is known about his life. He suffers from anxiety and depression, and perhaps substance abuse, as it’s hinted that he took pills to kill himself. He’s a reserved loner who acts cold and cruel towards others — even his sister, Zoe. He is the catalyst for the plot, as his suicide sparks the confusion with Evan’s letters. Despite his death, Connor reappears in “Sincerely, Me” as a figment of Evan’s imagination, and a ghost when Evan doesn’t know how to rectify the situation. Mike Faist originated the role on Broadway.

Zoe Murphy is a character in the musical Dear Evan Hansen. She is the crush/love interest of Evan. She is also the younger sister of Connor Murphy. In contrast to her brother, Zoe has a bubbly and confident personality. Although she struggles with the pressure of being the “good child” in the family. To ease that struggle, Evan tries to make her feel like Conor was actually a better person. Even after realizing his lies, Zoe forgives her brother because she wants to believe Evan. She plays in her school jazz band and draws on the cuffs of her jeans (which you can do with a pen). Laura Dreyfuss originated the role on Broadway.

In SpongeBob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical, the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom find themselves in peril as a volcano called Mount Humongous threatens to erupt and destroy the town. SpongeBob endeavors to save his beloved home and his friends. For the Broadway Musical, SpongeBob’s costume has been revamped with a yellow checkered shirt and plaid pants, compared to SpongeBob’s costume in the original run at the Oriental Theater in Chicago, and his design in the Nickelodeon series.

Erik, better known as The Phantom of the Opera, is a main character of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical. His real name is Erik. He lives underground beneath the Paris Opera House, and becomes infatuated with a soprano singer named Christine Daae. As a musical genius, he recognizes her talent and selects her to sing his music. He eventually falls in love with her, but she doesn’t reciprocate, which leaves him heartbroken. He wears a mask to hide half his face which had been disfigured from birth. The musical is currently running on Broadway, where Ben Crawford plays this title role.

Divorced, beheaded, live! SIX, a pop concert about the six wives of Henry VIII, has taken musical theater by storm. […]
