Sam from The Last of Us (HBO)
Sam (played by Keivonn Woodard) is the deaf younger brother of Henry in the HBO series The Last of Us. When Henry and Sam are hunted by Kathleen, the two make a plan with Joel and Ellie to leave Kansas City and travel with the pair to Wyoming. Sam is deaf, and he communicates via American Sign Language with his older brother, and also through the use of a magnetic notepad. He wears a yellow hoodie under a blue jacket and has orange face paint that looks like a superhero mask on his face, courtesy of Henry. If you can’t find a jacket that’s quilted exactly like Sam’s, a plain puffer jacket will do.
Regan Abbott from A Quiet Place
Regan Abbott (played by deaf actress Millicent Simmonds) is the eldest child of Lee and Evelyn Abbott in the movie A Quiet Place. Regan has a cochlear implant, and she and her father often argue when he excludes her from activities out of fear that she will unintentionally make noise that will alert the deadly creatures they are hiding from, as they have extremely sensitive hearing. Regan communicates through American Sign Language, which the rest of her family has learned as well, allowing them to speak without sound. Regan wears a pink, blue, and white striped skirt layered with floral leggings and a striped and navy blue turtleneck shirt.
Eileen Leahy from Supernatural
Eileen Leahy (played by Shoshannah Stern) is a hunter on the CW show Supernatural. As a child, she lost her hearing to the same Banshee that killed her parents, which spurred her to become a hunter. Eileen is killed by a hellhound, but Sam is able to resurrect her with one of Rowena‘s spells in season 15. Eileen is tough and confident, with a caring nature.
