Volo from Baldur’s Gate 3
Volo is a character in Baldur’s Gate 3. He is a Human Wizard who appears in Act 1 of the game at the Sacred Pool, where he tries to interview a bear. If you speak with him, he then tries to interview you – though he won’t agree with your retelling entirely. See, he’s best known for his wildly inaccurate and exaggerated guidebooks. The player can allow Volo to join their camp. While there, he’ll make quite the gory attempt to remove the Mind Flayer tadpole from your eye. But he gives you an enchanted eye in compensation, which grants Volo’s Ersatz Eye as a permanent buff.

Gale is a popular Companion character from the video game, Baldur’s Gate 3. He is a human Wizard, and he has a pet tressym named Tara. Gale aspires to become the greatest wizard Faerun had ever seen. Among the party, Gale is talkative and friendly with a romantic side.He was once the chosen of the goddess Mystra, and they shared an intimate relationship. He kept seeking more powerful magic to achieve a higher status. Yet ambition and hubris got the best of him, for he became a host to the Netherese destruction orb. Now he must consume magic items to keep the Weave, the raw material from which magic is woven, at bay.
Sofina from Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
Sofina (Daisy Head) is an antagonist in the 2023 movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. She is an undead Human Wizard, skilled in necromancy, and member of the Red Wizards of Thay. She tricks the adventuring party to retrieve the red horn for her patron. When Lord Forge rose to power, she serves as his advisor. However, he’s just a pawn for her evil plan: use the red horn and cast the red mist over Neverwinter to make everyone undead too. While Sofina is scheming and shrewd, our heroes find a way to foil her plan and defeat her! Use the black makeup crayon to draw the runes and make your eyes look extra sunken.
Max Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place
Max Russo (Jake T. Austin) is a character on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. He is the youngest child of Jerry and Theresa Russo and the brother of Justin and Alex Russo. He works as a server at the family sub shop. He is very mischievous and likes playing pranks on others. Witty and fun-loving, Max sometimes uses magic irresponsibly, but he can cause havoc without it. He is the only Russo sibling to become mortal as a result of the Wizard competition, but he receives ownership of the sub shop as compensation, which seems fine by him.
Asra Alnazar from The Arcana: A Mystic Romance – Love Story
Asra Alnazar is a powerful magician from the mobile game The Arcana: A Mystic Romance – Love Story. Asra is very fond of the Apprentice, as well as being one of their six potential romantic partners. Asra is also friends with Muriel, as they both grew up together as orphans on the Docks, and a colleague of Julian Devorak, as they worked together to find a cure for the Red Plague. Asra has white hair and wears a shirt open at the chest. While traveling, he dons a patterned sleeveless coat as well as a black wide-brimmed hat with a brightly colored feather. If you can’t find a single feather to fit the bill, consider layering several colorful feathers together.
Glinda from Wicked
Glinda (formerly Galinda) is one of the main characters in the musical Wicked, which tells the backstory of Elphaba, better known as the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. Glinda begins her journey at Shiz University, where she is accidentally assigned as Elphaba’s roommate. Despite the rocky start to their relationship, the two eventually become friends, though not every fairy tale in this case gets a happy ending. While there are certainly more well-known costumes for Glinda in other media, the costume she wears when she arrives at Shiz is a classic white outfit with nods to vintage styles including oxford pumps and a white beret.
Gargamel from The Smurfs
Gargamel is a wizard and the main antagonist of The Smurfs television program, comic books, and associated films. Gargamel created Smurfette, who was later brought to life by Papa Smurf, but has sworn to eliminate the Smurfs. He also has an orange cat named Azazel who helps him antagonize the Smurfs. Gargamel is a balding man with dark hair and bushy eyebrows. He wears a black robe with green patches on the elbows and a purple patch on the abdomen. If you want to go the extra mile and add these embellishments to a black monk’s robe, you can use colored felt squares cut to size and either sewn or glued in place.

The orb pondering wizard is the subject of the “Pondering My Orb” meme. More simply known as “Ponder Orb,” this meme became viral on Twitter in October 2021. Gilderoy Lockhart
Gilderoy Lockhart is a character in the Harry Potter book and movie series. During his time as a Ravenclaw student, he received many prestigious awards, and he isn’t shy about letting everyone know it. After graduating Hogwarts, he became a celebrity in the wizarding world. In particular he wrote books about his encounters with magical creatures, such as Gadding with Ghouls and Travels with Trolls. When Dumbledore appoints Lockhart as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Hermione becomes smitten by his knowledge. Yet Harry and Ron (and most everyone else) find him obnoxious. Although there’s more to him than meets the eye: he tricked actual accomplished wizards into revealing their stories, and then erased their memories with Memory Charms so he could take all the credit. In the film adaptation, Kenneth Branagh plays this role.
