Maggie from Maggie and the Ferocious Beast
Maggie and the Ferocious Beast is a long-running children’s show in Nick Jr. (in the United States, it has other homes in other countries). Maggie (voiced by Kirsten Stone) is an imaginative and adventurous little girl. She lives in Nowhere Land with her friend, the tame Ferocious Beast. Thy explore their world and make lots of friends along the way.
Cosplaying as Maggie is very easy! You start with a pith helmet and some red ribbon to make it look just like Maggie’s. Add a curly orange wig under that and you’ve got most of her most notable costume pieces all set! After that all you need is a yellow t-shirt, denim dress, yellow socks, and black Mary Jane shoes. There are, unfortunately, no Ferocious Beast plush toys as they’re super rare. But if you have a little time and some sewing skills, you can certainly make an adventure buddy of your own!
Ronnie Anne Santiago from The Casagrandes
Ronalda “Ronnie” Anne Santiago (voiced by Breanna Yde and later Izabella Alvarez) is one of the main characters in The Casagandes and was originally a supporting character on The Loud House. She is tough as nails. Most of the time. She does have a soft spot for her friends though and doesn’t handle it well when others are mean to her.
Although Ronnie is a tried-and-true tomboy she seems to love the color purple. A lavender hair tie and lavender socks go well with black cuffed shorts and purple slip-on shoes. A purple zip-up hoody completes the look of this fun-loving prankster!
Kurapika from Hunter x Hunter
In the anime series Hunter x Hunter, Kurapika (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro and Erika Harlacher in the 2011 series) is the lone survivor of the Kurta clan and a Blacklist Hunter. While Kurapika’s blue and yellow outfit is easily found pre-made, there are several options available from both the 1999 and 2011 series, depending on how creative and crafty you want to be.
Karen Page from Daredevil
Karen Paige (played by Deborah Ann Woll in both Daredevil and The Punisher) is a secretary-turned-sleuth that works with Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson. After nearly being convicted of a murder she didn’t commit she goes to work with the two men and ends up embroiled in a whole new Battle for New York that lands her in the direct path of the most dangerous people in the city. Not least of which are Daredevil and The Punisher. Smart and determined, though, Karen makes it through and does her best to keep her friends alive and together in the process.
Although Karen often ends up in dangerous situations she dresses professionally. She wears her long blonde wig down and prefers blouses with pencil skirts and stilettos. Though she usually wears little to no makeup she will dress up as the occasion calls for. And of course she is never without paper, pen, and her phone so she can keep track of the news and clues that come her way.
Melvin Sneedly from Captain Underpants
Melvin Sneedly (voiced by Jorge Diaz in the TV show and by Jordan Peele in the movie) is the central antagonist of the Captain Underpants series. Melvin is incredibly smart, but is also a tattletale, which often puts him at odds with his fellow classmates, including Harold Hutchins. There is some variation in Melvin’s costume, depending on which version you choose, but he always wears oversized glasses and a bow tie.
Snufkin from Moominvalley
Snurfkin likes to wander around, and plays harmonica. He is a minimalist, preferring to value memories more than objects of memories. His easy going and warm personality is admired by the smaller, shy inhabitants of Moominvalley. Snurfkin enjoys the adventures of his life as a vagabond in Moominvalley.
The Master (1971) from Doctor Who
The Master is a recurring antagonist on the British sci-fi show Doctor Who. Although the Doctor says they are last of the Time Lords, they soon find out otherwise. But unlike the Doctor, who uses his abilities and knowledge to heal, the Master wants to harm. The Master (Roger Delgado) is first seen in “Terror of the Autons” (1971), where he forms an alliance with the Nestene Conciousness to invade Earth. The Third Doctor (Jon Pertwee) convinces him to stop the plan, but he escapes. His last appearance is in “Frontier in Space” (1973), where he works with the Daleks to provoke a war between humans and draconians. Again, he escapes, but he reunites with the Tenth Doctor as Professor Yana/Harold Saxon, and the Twelfth Doctor as Missy, her new title as a Time Lady. In the most recent season with the Thirteenth Doctor, the Master is back, revealed to inhabit her ex-MI6 ally, O.
Subaru Natsuki from Re:Zero
In the anime and light novel series Re:Zero – Starting Life in Another World, Subaru Natsuki (voiced by Koboyashi Yuusuke or Sean Chiplock) is the main protagonist. Subaru is transported from a convenience store in Japan to a fantasy world where he becomes a knight to the half-elf Emilia. Subaru typically wears the tracksuit he had on when he was brought to this new world, however he also has a butler’s uniform he wears while serving at the Roswaal mansion. A standard butler’s costume will help to achieve this look, especially if you take the time to carefully outline the lapels with some standard grey fabric paint. If you don’t like the look of a multi-striped bow tie, you could also use a plain blue one and paint a single stripe across it once it is tied.
Gowther from Seven Deadly Sins
Gowther is a character in the anime Seven Deadly Sins. Revealed to be a doll created by the Grand Wizard as well as a former member of the Ten Commandments, he is the Goat’s sin of Lust. His main power is Invasion and his main weapon is the Twin Bow. Alongside his androgynous appearance, Gowther prefers wearing women’s clothes. This outfit will require some handicrafts. First, cut a scoop neck from the t-shirt so it hangs off your shoulders. You might want to order the shirt a size up so it slouches down, and you’ll see the straps of the black tank top underneath. Use the silver fabric paint for the design around the new neckline, as well as around the four black buttons, which you should place down the white shirt. Another option could be using black fabric paint to make the buttons as oppose to using the actual buttons in this guide. Regarding the lavender shirt, use the dark purple marker to draw vertical lines down the sleeves.
