Make Your Own: The First Blade from Supernatural
This post is possible in part because of my friend A., who was gutsy enough to dive into cosplay and […]
Blippi
Blippi (Stevin John) is a YouTube-based Internet entertainer geared towards young audiences. His signature blue and orange costume and childlike personality are fixtures in his videos, where he takes his viewers on “journeys” to learn about shapes, colors, careers, everyday objects, and interesting activities. Blippi is taking the world by storm with live shows, official merchandise, and his ever-expanding YouTube channel full of kid-friendly content.
Gollum from Lord of the Rings
Sauron’s Ring of Power changed many hands throughout the centuries, until one fateful day, it ended up in the grubby hands of Gollum (Andy Serkis). The Ring corrupted him, mind and body, but added years to his already miserable life, and Gollum grew addicted to the power it granted him until one day, a Hobbit named Bilbo Baggins made Gollum quit cold turkey. As a result, Gollum swore revenge against the Bagginses, including Bilbo’s nephew Frodo.
Make Your Own: Abby Sciuto’s Caf-POW Cup from NCIS
Abby Sciuto is the resident goth girl and Forensic Scientist on CBS’s NCIS. Among her many onscreen antics is an apparent […]
Kasie Hines from NCIS
When Pauley Perrette’s Abby Sciuto departed from the cast of NCIS, Kasie Hines (played by Diona Reasonover) took over as the new forensic scientist. Kasie’s outfits tend to have bright, eye-catching, but coordinating colors, combining preppiness with a touch of whimsy. She may have some big boots to fill (although she seems to be going for comfy Vans sneakers, personally), but she lends her own spin on a quirky demeanor and fashion sense that is all too familiar yet refreshingly different at once.
Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2
Claire Redfield is a college student searching for her missing brother, Chris. In the year 1998, during the events of the remake of Resident Evil 2, Claire’s (voiced by Stephanie Panisello) search takes her to Raccoon City, where she battles a series of challenging monsters and zombies before finally having the reunion she’s hoped for.
Luke Triton from Professor Layton
Luke Triton is a fixture of the Professor Layton game series, always standing by the eponymous professor’s side as he leaves no puzzle unsolved! As Professor Layton’s self-proclaimed apprentice, young Luke dives deep into learning about detective work and what it means to be a true gentleman. Luke’s outfit from the first trilogy of Layton mysteries emphasizes his youthfulness, with drooping suspenders and a retro newsboy cap. The addition of a crossbody bag makes this costume especially convention-friendly!
Professor Hershel Layton from the Professor Layton Series
Professor Hershel Layton’s past is shrouded in plenty of mystery, but what we know for sure about him is that he personifies true gentlemanliness – a trait he tries to reinforce in his young apprentice and assistant, Luke Triton. Whether he’s solving puzzles (“A true gentleman leaves no puzzle unsolved!”) or exploring unusual locales across Europe, Professor Layton can rarely be found without his signature top hat and suit. You, too, can now dress like a true gentleman!
Yato from Noragami
“Toss a coin to your wannabe god of fortune, happiness, and war,” says nobody ever, but that doesn’t stop Yato from giving his aspiration the old college try. This Noragami protagonist’s sense of fashion is contemporary for the time – in the present day, he sports a comfortable tracksuit, practical boots, and a funky gray-blue scarf (that’s supposedly an old bath towel). We eventually learn that Yato’s scared stiff that everyone will forget him, so let’s memorialize this character by re-creating his most popular outfit.
Make Your Own: Roman Torchwick’s Hat from RWBY
Although the character departed from the series after RWBY’s third season, Roman Torchwick’s hat lives on as his accomplice, Neo […]
