James Bond
James Bond, code-named 007, is the dashing MI-6 hero of over 20 films, books and video games starting with Dr. No in 1962. Since then the actors playing Bond have changed, the enemies have switched geographical locations and the gadgets have become wickedly high-tech, but Bond’s go-to outfit remains the same: a snazzy black tuxedo and trusty Walther PPK. Finish off the look of this charming, rakish lady-lover with a big watch, hair gel and a martini – shaken, not stirred.
Dominic Cobb
Dominic Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) from the movie Inception is a skilled Extractor – someone who slips into peoples’ dreams, steals their secrets and sells them to competitors. He used to extract legally, but now he is a fugitive wanted for his wife Mal’s murder. Despite his fugitive status, a company hires him to perform an inception, or the placement of an idea into a person’s mind. He agrees, but he and his team must battle both inner and outer demons to succeed. He dresses well in trousers, button-downs and leather jackets, his trusty spinning top always in his pocket.
Spence Parks
A covert security guard for the Umbrella Corporation placed to protect the emergency exit of a facility called The Hive, Spence Parks (James Purefoy) wakes with his cover-wife Alice inside their mansion with no memory of who he is. From there he embarks on a whirl-wind adventure in the film Resident Evil, battling zombies and slowly coming to remember his past – and what he’s done. He dresses simply in a tee and jeans, but you can make it pop with some fake blood and a few zombie bite marks.
Rain Ocampo
Rain Ocampo (Michelle Rodriguez) is a special forces commando for the Umbrella Corporation in the first installment of the Resident Evil film series. Called in after the advanced computer AI nicknamed the Red Queen initiated a lock down, Rain along with her team must battle a horde of zombies within a bio-weaponry facility called The Hive in Raccoon City. In the first movie, she wears thick long-sleeved tactical gear that comes in handy when zombies are after her flesh.
Duo Maxwell
The class clown and best pilot of his group, Duo Maxwell helms the gundam Deathsythe on the anime TV series Gundam Wing. An orphan raised by the Maxwell church, he is the most personable, lively and ‘human’ of the pilots. Calling himself “shinigami”, or ‘the god of death’, he is always willing to come to the aid of his friends and shies away from no fight. He wears his hair in a signature long braid and dresses in a vintage jodhpurs outfit that bears hints of his religious upbringing.
Alice from Resident Evil
Placed in a mansion to guard the emergency exit of Umbrella Corporation’s bio-weaponry facility called The Hive, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is a covert security officer in the movie Resident Evil and its sequels. In the first installment she suffers from amnesia for most of the film, gradually regaining memories as she fights to survive a zombie-infested Hive in Raccoon City. This guide covers her iconic first film outfit, a red dress with combat boots.
Dr. Daniel Jackson
Highly intelligent, intensely curious, wildly theoretical and with a penchant for sneezing, professor of Egyptology Daniel Jackson (James Spader) from the 1994 sci-fi flick Stargate traipses across an unknown world in search of knowledge, exploration and, unexpectedly, love. While off-world, he wears a loose robe and shawls given to him by the local tribe over his standard army clothes.
Kara “Starbuck” Thrace
In Battlestar Galactica, Kara Thrace, call-sign “Starbuck” (Katee Sackhoff), is the best Viper pilot in the flee, insubordinate, a drunk and a gambler. One of the few thousand humans left after the human-created machine race of Cylons attacked Earth, she goes through a series of personal, professional and spiritual trials as they struggle to find a new home planet. Willing to try anything and often found at the bar, she’s a tough chick with a wounded heart. Like the rest of the soldiers, she wears the signature double tanks.
Zoe Washburne
The devoted first officer and right-hand-man of captain Malcolm Reynolds, Zoe Washburne (Gina Torres) serves up a military attitude, wry wisecracks and crack shots in the first and only season of the fan-favorite TV show Firefly. Dressed like a Brown Coat (the rebel faction she and Mal served under) in a leather vest, gun holster and weathered boots, she looks as tough as she acts.
Michael Burnham
The lead protagonist on the newest installment in the Trek world, Star Trek: Discovery, human Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) served as the first officer aboard the USS Shenzhou before it was destroyed in a battle with the Klingons. Her next post lands her on the USS Discovery, a science vessel with a mysterious mission and a captain willing to do anything to achieve his goal. As a child she was raised by Sarek, the father of Spock from the original Star Trek series, and her demeanor and posture reflect her Vulcan upbringing.
