In The Nightmare Before Christmas, a grumpy, muttering old geezer, Dr. Finkelstein (William Hickey) is the creator of Sally (Catherine O’Hara) and the resident scientist in Halloween Town. While he is often shown being grouchy, he is highly protective of Sally and always eager to research and experiment with new ideas – especially if they involve Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon). At the end of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Dr. Finkelstein is shown to be wheeled around by his new wife that he created with half of his brain.

The Blue Morpho was the father of The Monarch in the adult swim animated series The Venture Bros. In Season 6, the Monarch himself takes up the mantle and becomes the new Blue Morpho.

In the SpongeBob Musical, Sheldon J. Plankton is the owner of the Chum Bucket and a rival to Mr. Krabs, the boss of SpongeBob SquarePants at the Krabby Patty. In the Broadway version of the character, Plankton wears an eye patch to give himself one eye.

Backpack Kid is the nickname for Russell Horning, who made a splash for his stiff-armed dance moves in a performance of “Swish Swish” with Katy Perry on Saturday Night Live. Since then the Georgia teen has performed with countless artists from Rihanna to Blac Youngsta, and has been even been mimicked in NFL touchdown celebrations.
