Women
Pakunoda from Hunter x Hunter
Pakunoda (voiced in Japanese by Romi Park, and in English by Erica Lindbeck) is part of the Phantom Troupe in the anime Hunter x Hunter.
She’s the gun expert of the Troupe and specializes in memory reading and recalling, and when not involved in criminal activities, she loves to spend time with cats.
Paku has brown eyes and middle parted neck-length blonde hair, and her usual outfit is a very open fronted purple suitjacket with a pinkish collar, a matching skirt, and slip-on shoes that match the color of the suit’s collar.
Anastasia’s Blue Boat Dress
Anastasia is the titular character of the 1997 semi-historically inspired movie from 20th Century Fox. Meg Ryan is her speaking voice, and Liz Callaway is her singing voice.
She has several outfits throughout the runtime of the movie, but this specific one is one that she wears during the dance she has on the boat with Dimitri.
It is a light blue, short sleeved dress with white cuffs that she wears a brown belt over at the waist, and a matching blue ribbon holds her long auburn hair back. Underneath it she wears a pair of black tights, with brown boots over top. Completing the outfit is a pair of pearl earrings, and the necklace she got from her grandmother as a child.
The dress that I linked in this article is custom from the Etsy seller ArtemisiaLaFee, so please do go check them out if you’re interested.
(Also a slightly funny anecdote, while I was writing this my mom came charging downstairs excitedly yelling that she had found our copy of the movie’s soundtrack on CD, unaware that I’d been writing about that exact thing.)
Senpaibuns from Gacha Life
Senpaibuns is a non-playable character from the video game, Gacha Life. She can be found in Hometown of Life mode. In one of the games, “Narwhal Sky,” she is actually playable. Senpaibuns reappears in Gacha Club as a preset with multiple battle units.
Sharon McGee from The Ghost and Molly McGee
Sharon McGee (voiced by Sumalee Montano) is the mother of the titular Molly on the Disney Channel show The Ghost and Molly McGee. Also the mother of Darryl and wife of Pete, Sharon is an artist who formerly attended law school. She is hardworking and dedicated to her family, as well as careful with money. Sharon wears dark blue jeans and mauve sneakers with a pale green cardigan. Her gold necklace may be hard to find an exact match for, but a similarly geometric pendant necklace can do the trick.
Delilah Briarwood
Lady Delilah Briarwood is a character from Critical Role, a DnD campaign on Youtube. She is also a character in Legend of Vox Machina, the animated adaptation on Amazon Prime. She is a powerful human wizard and zealot of Vecna. Cunning and ruthless, Delilah is the mastermind behind the Briarwoods’ plans in Whitestone. Despite her cold nature, she genuinely loves her husband, Sylas, and remains devoted to him. As an NPC, this character is played by the dungeon master Matthew Mercer.
Carla Radames from Resident Evil 6
Dr. Carla Radames (voiced by Courtenay Taylor) is the person responsible for the creation of the C-Virus in the Resident Evil video game franchise. In Resident Evil 6, Dr. Radames undergoes a transformation as part of Derek Simmons’ Ada Project, which turns her into a doppelganger of Ada Wong. In her new appearance, Dr. Radames has short black hair and wears a blue dress with red scarf and belt. She also uses Ada’s signature Hookshot weapon. When seeking a gun to replicate the one she uses in the game, look for something futuristic-looking and mostly silver in color.
Kon from Kemono Jihen
Kon (voiced in Japanese by Yumiri Hanamori and in English by Brittany Lauda) is one of the antagonists turned mains in the anime Kemono Jihen.
She is a kitsune (fox) and used to be party of Lady Inari’s group, along with Nobimaru, but defected early on to go with Kabane and his friends, which was a much safer and happier option for her.
As a kitsune, she has some typical fox traits, including the light tan fluffy ears and tail that she hides in her hoodie, and small fangs. She has soft purple blue eyes and light blond hair tied in two low ponytails by her neck.
Her main outfit that she wears is a black striped white FOX brand hoodie with ear covers, hairclips on the edge of the hood, a black choker, black fingerless short gloves, black leggings with purple stripes crossing up them, and white sneakers with black side stripes.
Ada Wong from Resident Evil 6
Ada Wong (voiced by Courtenay Taylor in RE6) has gone through several different iterations (and outfits) since she was introduced to the Resident Evil franchise. In RE6, she’s back with a slightly more practical look for her chosen profession. To recreate her appearance in this version, you’ll need black leather gloves, pants, and stiletto boots, as well as a red button-down shirt left open, with the sleeves rolled and the collar popped. A real crossbow is likely outside the budget for a costume, so stick with the pistol worn in her shoulder harness, or opt for a smaller, more toy-like version instead.
Sara from Over the Garden Wall
Sara (voiced by Emily Brundige) appears in episodes nine and ten of Over the Garden Wall. Sara is a classmate of Wirt. She serves as her school mascot and both Wirt and Jason have a crush on her. Sara’s Halloween costume is an interesting mash-up. She wears a Nasa bomber jacket over a clown jumpsuit and her face is painted to resemble a skull. To recreate her look, you may need to get a little creative, as an exact replica of her jumpsuit is difficult to find. If you’re willing to be flexible, a sleeveless jumpsuit might stand in place with the jacket and collar over it to disguise the change. Otherwise, a dark-colored onesie might work instead, or you can DIY it a little with fabric paint and a plain, light-colored jumpsuit. If you don’t want to paint your face, a skull mask can work as well. Many of the Nasa jackets available for purchase are much more flashy than Sara’s, so a plain jacket and a few patches may be a better fit for her look. The patches can be attached by sewing, gluing, or even using double-sided wall tape.
Crimson Countess from The Boys
Crimson Countess (played by Laurie Holden) was a member of the superhero group Payback on the Amazon series The Boys. Also a singer, Crimson Countess’ superpower is Explosive Fireball Generation and her catchphrase is “she’s the countess you can count on.” To recreate the Countess’ look, you’ll want to focus on darker tones of red than you normally see in superhero costumes. While full cosplay sets do exist, they can be very pricey, so if you’re willing to put in a little more effort, you can certainly get close to her onscreen look with a few simple pieces layered together. A burgundy bodysuit is your base, over which you’ll want to layer a body harness, forearm sleeves, and high boots. Top off the look with a red wig, shiny mask, and a cape.
