Lock from The Nightmare Before Christmas

Lock, voiced by Paul Reubens, is part of the trio of antagonistic Trick or Treaters in the 1993 movie The Nightmare Before Christmas, along with Shock and Barrel.

He has pale off-white skin, yellow sclera eyes with black pupils, red hair slicked back and styled up into devil horns at his forehead, and his teeth are sharp even outside of the mask.

Lock has turquoise blue lips, eyes shaded with red and purple on each lid, he wears a long sleeved red pajama set, matching red pointed devil shoes, has either yellowed hands or gloves, and a red, presumably real, devils tail. He also has a matching stylized devil mask that mimics his face and head shape, to match the other two’s themed masks.

Zardy from Zardy’s Maze

Zardy might be hard to avoid in his maze, but out there on Halloween night, nobody is going to want to run from this cosplay. Or if they do, at least they’ll be running for the right reasons.

Zardy is a little inhuman, but copying his look is possible. A black witch’s hat and a pumpkin mask start things off on the right track, though you can opt for face paint if the mask will be too warm. A shoulder cowl, a pair of scissors – to cut off the hood and create the V at the bottom – , some fabric glue, and orange fabric paint creates the iconic top detailing. It’s a bit of a DIY project but it layers easily over a versatile black long-sleeve pullover sweatshirt. Finish off with a pair of jeans, some shoe covers in the style of brown boots, and a farming hoe. If you don’t want to carry an actual farming tool around, you can use a costume scythe instead.

She invites Hannah to Frightside, an alternate dimension fueled by Halloween magic. At first, she’s scared of the monsters, but she quickly befriends them. Hannah becomes particularly close to Scary Godmother, Bugaboo, and Orson. While also sweet-natured and friendly, Hannah grows into a brave, assertive, and admirable character. This costume guide features her Fairy Princess/Queen costume seen in both movies.

Laughing Jack from CreepyPasta

Laughing Jack from CreepyPasta

Laughing Jack was once a child’s toy that gave rise to the child’s imaginary friend. But when the child’s personality took a dark turn, so did that of Jack. If you love all things creepy and terrifying, it’s no wonder you like this CreepyPasta Pal! His story is one of the scariest out there.

Jack was once a colorful clown. When his personality took a turn so did his appearance. He is done up entirely in black and white now instead of a rainbow of colors. He has the high ruffled collar of a clown and feathery shoulders on his jacket, all in black. His shirt will take a little DIY but not much. Just cut the bottom half of the striped shirt off then put the crop top on over the top half. Dye the bandages dark grey and wrap those around your torso, covering the bottom of the shirts a little, and you’re good to go! (If you have extra bandages you can wrap those over the bottom half of your gloves too, to mimic Jack’s bandaged hands and black fingers)

For the lower half of the costume you’ll need black knee pants, black suspenders, and long socks that are striped black and white. Different version of the story have different shoes, but the shoe covers pictured above are old fashioned enough for a clown toy without looking like modern clown shoes. A shaggy black wig will give you the clown’s unkempt appearance. Jack was the exaggerated makeup style of a normal clown but done in black and white which you can copy with mime makeup. Once you have the look down all you will need is a sinister laugh and you’ll be dressed up like Jack!

Silver Shamrock Kids from Halloween III

While Halloween III: Season of the Witch may be lacking Michael Myers, it’s still a fantastic film perfect for the season. The horror in Halloween III comes from Silver Shamrock, a company which makes Halloween masks for children, secretly plotting using them to kill them all in a Satanic ritual on Halloween night. There are three masks featured, skeleton, pumpkin, and witch.

Ben Tramer

Ben Tramer is a minor character mentioned in Halloween I and featured in one of the most memorable scenes of Halloween II. He is a young man who gets mistaken for Michael Myers
and as a result gets chased by police and ultimately killed when a police car rams him, causing an explosion.

Leslie Vernon

Leslie Vernon is the focus and antagonist of the cult classic mockumentary comedy-horror Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. He is a wannabe serial killer inspired by the likes of Jason, Michael, and Freddy (who in this world really exist). What he lacks in physical power he makes up for in his cunning planning and setting up of traps for his would-be victims. Don’t forget to wear and tear his clothes. Leslie Vernon walks barefoot, so it’s recommended that you wear sandals when not posing for pictures. Black face paint for the black circles around his eyes.
