Tae Kwon Doug from Disjointed
Tae Kwon Doug – also known as Douglas and played by Michael Trucco from Hush and Battlestar Galactica – is the rather inept antagonist on Disjointed. Though he starts the show firmly anti-drug (and woefully misinformed) he slowly comes around to the staff of the dispensary next to his dojang. He takes a special liking to Pete who he ends up treating as a sort of adopted son.
To cosplay as Doug you’ll want to get a dobok – the Korean term for a gi. You’ll also need a black belt and a headband as well as a few patches. It’s hard to have as many as Doug does, however, since he adds a new patch with each episode. Finish off the look with some camo camping crocs and you’re ready to take out the nearest BioWave.
Mr. Miyagi
Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita) is the legendary karate teacher of Daniel LaRusso in the American martial arts series The Karate Kid. He is known for his unconventional methods of teaching karate using chores, such as when he orders Daniel to wax his car. Despite his age, Miyagi shows prowess many times, such as his ability to catch a fly with chopsticks.
Johnny Lawrence
In The Karate Kid, Johnny Lawrence (Billy Zabka) bullies the new kid at school, Daniel. They eventually fight against one another in the All-Valley Karate Tournament raising the question of whose dojo will win: Cobra Kai’s or Mr. Miyagi’s?
The Karate Kid
In The Karate Kid, Daniel (Ralph Macchio) learns how to defend himself from bully, Johnny Lawrence, after he is taken under Mr. Miyagi’s wing. Daniel’s a slow learner however, and doesn’t understand that he can’t master moves like The Crane until he first masters skills like wax on and wax off.
Ryu
Ryu is notably one of Street Fighters most popular characters. Premiering in the very first Street Fighter in 1987, he’s been hadoken-ing his way through a series of sequels, crossovers, and even mangas to date. He is arguably one of the most prominent icons in video game history. Just Google ‘Ryu’. Do it. You won’t.
