Karma Akabane from Assassination Classroom
Karma Akabane is a main character in the anime Assassination Classroom. He used to be in Class 3E, but he was suspended for violent behavior. He is known as an impulsive troublemaker who finds school boring. Although Karma has good intentions and can be rather empathetic. In fact, his suspension was a result of standing up to a bully. He thinks every student has a special talent for assassination, and he will defend them if necessary. He is close friends with Nagisa Shiota. When Nagisa gets insecure, Karma is there to support him.
Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Detective Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) is a main character of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. In the precinct, she’s considered the tough as nails badass. Her standoffish demeanor and secretive past makes her rather intimidating. She is difficult to read, and she doesn’t like talking about her feelings — or having feelings at all. Jake and Amy are her closest friends, even if she refuses to admit enjoying their company. In addition, Rosa is openly bisexual.
Zoro from One Piece
Roronoa Zoro, aka “Pirate Hunter” Zoro, is a swordsman and combatant of the Straw Hat Pirates and a former bounty hunter. He is a master swordsman and dreams to become the best in the world. His strength and ambition make him the most dangerous member in the crew. His fame as a master swordsman and his great strength, You can tie the bandana around your arm or put it on your head. The green belt mimics the fabric on his waist. You can paint on black stripes with puff paint if you want a more accurate cosplay.
Kyle from “When Your Name is Kyle” by Trevor Wallace
If you’ve ever encountered a Kyle, or your name is Kyle, you’re aware of the meme. “Kyles” are the pseudonyms of skateboarding, Monster chugging boys with lots of pent up aggression. Now you can look like the version of Kyle from comedian Trevor Wallace’s viral video. Add a pair of black hi-top sneakers and you’re good to go. Optional accessories include a can of Monster Energy Drink, a can of AXE body spray, or a piece of drywall.
Gilderoy Lockhart
Gilderoy Lockhart is a character in the Harry Potter book and movie series. During his time as a Ravenclaw student, he received many prestigious awards, and he isn’t shy about letting everyone know it. After graduating Hogwarts, he became a celebrity in the wizarding world. In particular he wrote books about his encounters with magical creatures, such as Gadding with Ghouls and Travels with Trolls. When Dumbledore appoints Lockhart as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Hermione becomes smitten by his knowledge. Yet Harry and Ron (and most everyone else) find him obnoxious. Although there’s more to him than meets the eye: he tricked actual accomplished wizards into revealing their stories, and then erased their memories with Memory Charms so he could take all the credit. In the film adaptation, Kenneth Branagh plays this role.
Sarah Sanderson from Hocus Pocus
Amuck amuck amuck! Sarah Sanderson (Sarah Jessica Parker) is an antagonist in Hocus Pocus. As the youngest of the Sanderson sisters, she is ditzy yet flirtatious. Her unique power is her siren like singing voice. Some makeup tutorials use dark purple lipstick but we went with red to match her sisters. We added fake spiders, her favorite snack, as they’re cheap and show commitment to the character! Just make sure to only chew, not swallow!
Jake Peralta from Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Noice! Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) is the main protagonist of the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He can be cocky and immature, but he is talented at what he does. He works as a NYPD detective stationed in Brooklyn’s 99th Precinct. He is friends with mostly everyone at the station and pursues a romantic relationship with fellow detective Amy Santiago. Follow this costume guide and you’ll be looking “cool cool cool cool cool cool.”
Disco Janet from The Good Place
“What it is, what it is!” Disco Janet is another iteration of Janet from The Good Place. Although no one knows their purpose or where they come from. Their void consists of a dance party with a nonstop record of 70s hits. When marbleized, they are trapped in a disco ball. Disco Janet gives Chidi a pair of roller skates, to which they say “solid.” We have only seen one Disco Janet in the series, which might imply there’s a Disco Place. Every iteration of Janet is played by D’Arcy Carden.
Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince of Bel Air
In the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Carlton Banks (Alfonso Ribeiro) is Will Smith’s rational yet cocky cousin. In spite of his wealth, he has little success with women. Sometimes his selfish attitude can clash with Will’s more laidback approach, but he’s still his best friend. His style is preppy and conservative, and you can’t go wrong with a cardigan and sweater vest. And of course patterned pants, as per the 90s. Once you’ve assembled your costume, do the Carlton dance!
Nagisa Shiota from Assassination Classroom
Nagisa Shiota is the main protagonist and narrator in the anime Assassination Classroom. Other students make fun of him for his androgynous appearance. He is calm, empathetic, and exceptionally observant of his surroundings. He pays close attention to Korosensei in Class 3E. He is more reserved and shy, preferring to keep his thoughts to himself. Shiota is very insecure, often referring to as himself “invisible,” yet he has a real talent for assassination.
