Nyota Uhura
Nyota Uhura is a character in Star Trek: The Original Series. On the Starship Enterprise, she is the translator and communications crew officer. She keeps a level head, and takes interest in alien languages. She enjoys singing while Spock accompanies on the Vulcan Lute, which entertains the crew. Noted by the symbols on her console and room decor, Uhura is proud of her African heritage. She goes on to become a lieutenant commander. Uhura was an important part of the original crew’s diversity as one of the first black characters on television equal with everyone. Additionally, the kiss between her and Captain Kirk was the first interracial kiss on television. Nichelle Nichols portrays Uhura in the original series, while Zoe Saldana portrays Uhura in the 2009 film reboots.
Katya Zamolodchikova from RuPaul’s Drag Race
Katya Zamolodchikova is an American drag queen and former contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race. She appeared on Season 7 and placed fifth, though she won the title of Miss Congeniality. Then Katya returned or All Stars 2 and placed in the top three. She is a favorite among the fans for her eccentric looks and quirky sense of humor. She co-hosts “Uhhhhh” and its spinoff “The Trixie and Katya Show” with fellow season 7 alumni Trixie Mattel. Connor Murphy from Dear Evan Hansen
Connor Murphy is a character in the musical Dear Evan Hansen. Not much is known about his life. He suffers from anxiety and depression, and perhaps substance abuse, as it’s hinted that he took pills to kill himself. He’s a reserved loner who acts cold and cruel towards others — even his sister, Zoe. He is the catalyst for the plot, as his suicide sparks the confusion with Evan’s letters. Despite his death, Connor reappears in “Sincerely, Me” as a figment of Evan’s imagination, and a ghost when Evan doesn’t know how to rectify the situation. Mike Faist originated the role on Broadway.
Yubaba from Spirited Away
Yubaba is the main antagonist in Spirited Away, an animated film created by Hayao Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. She is the owner and employer of the Bathhouse. She tricks the bathhouse workers by stealing their names and only freeing them if they can remember it. Some of her other powers include fire breathing and flying. Compared to her identical twin, Zeniba, she’s considered the evil one. Our protagonist, Chihiro, finds her much more intimidating. Yubaba is extremely overbearing, but she can be seen as a doting mother to her giant baby, Boh. She embodies greed because she obsesses over gold, valuing money more than her own family.
Zoe Murphy from Dear Evan Hansen
Zoe Murphy is a character in the musical Dear Evan Hansen. She is the crush/love interest of Evan. She is also the younger sister of Connor Murphy. In contrast to her brother, Zoe has a bubbly and confident personality. Although she struggles with the pressure of being the “good child” in the family. To ease that struggle, Evan tries to make her feel like Conor was actually a better person. Even after realizing his lies, Zoe forgives her brother because she wants to believe Evan. She plays in her school jazz band and draws on the cuffs of her jeans (which you can do with a pen). Laura Dreyfuss originated the role on Broadway.
Big Bad Wolf from Shrek
The Big Bad Wolf is a minor character in the Shrek movies. Also known as Wolfie, he lives in Duloc in Far Far Away. He first appears as one of the fairy tale characters that was exiled to Shrek‘s swamp. Wolfie wears the grandmother’s dress to disguise himself from Little Red Riding Hood. You can cut slits into the bonnet for the ears, or you can simply hot glue them on. An optional step is makeup. Use brown and white in visible strokes along the face to mimic a furry texture, and then use black face paint for the nose.
Aragorn
Aragorn is a major character in The Lord of the Rings. Known by the four hobbits as Strider, he is a ranger from the north and hails from Gondor, the kingdom of men. He joins the Fellowship of the Ring to help defeat Sauron. His close relationship with the elves gives him advantages in battle and knowledge. With the exception of Gandalf, he’s probably the strongest and most skilled member of the fellowship. Like his ancestor Beren, he falls in love with an elf lady: Arwen. It’s revealed he’s the heir to Isildur, so he becomes king of Gondor and makes Arwen his queen. In the film adaptation, Viggo Mortensen plays this role. The knit sweater is optional, but it closely resembles his chainmail. Simply cut the sleeves off the tunic if you want to wear it on a colder day.
Kanao Tsuyuri from Demon Slayer
Kanao Tsuyuri is a character in the hit anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. She is another Demon Slayer who survived the Final Selection with Tanjiro and Zenitsu. In her pursuit of Nezuko, it’s clear she is fast and skilled with her sword. She is the adopted sister as well as the successor of the Insect Hashira, Shinobu Kocho. Because of her abuse and indecisiveness as a child, the Kanae Kocho gave her a coin to flip to choose what to do. Eventually she finds her own destiny in her own fighting style.
Heather from Total Drama Island
Heather is a character from the hit Cartoon Network show, Total Drama Island. During its first arc, she was a camper as a member of the Screaming Gophers. She was the main antagonist, labeled as the villainous Queen Bee. Considering her master manipulation skills and drive to win, Heather intimidates nearly everyone on the island. She tries to form alliances only to betray them. Her main enemy is Gwen, the goth loner girl. As one of the most notable characters in the series, Heather frequently returned for its several spinoffs. Her big secret: her hair is actually a wig!
Arwen
Arwen is a minor character in The Lord of the Rings. Her full name is referred to as Arwen Undomiel or Arwen Evenstar. She is the daughter of the Elrond, the half-elf Lord of Rivendell, and an Celebrian, an elven noblewoman. Tolkien describes her as one of the most beautiful elves, resembling her ancestor Luthien. Like her ancestor, she falls in love with a man. Like Luthien loved Beren, Arwen loved Aragorn. When he is crowned King of Gondor, they marry, and she becomes queen. She decides to stay mortal so she can die with Aragorn. While she never appears in the books, Arwen appears in all three film adaptations. She carries Frodo across the Ford of Bruinen and fights the Orcs with her sword, Hadhafang. The role is played by actress Liv Tyler.
