Princess Pride from Mega Man Battle Network
Although she takes a brief turn as a villain, Princess Pride is a passionate and kind ruler over Creamland. Voiced by Jillian Michaels in the anime, she is better suited to the role of hero and she wears the mantle well.
Princess Pride has two main costume. One is the white dress and crown from the game Mega Man Battle Network 2 and the other is the brown and cream coordinated outfit from both MMBN 5 and the anime.
For the white dress you’ll want something long with short puffed sleeves and a mermaid cut. That is a very specific cut, however, so any white mermaid cut dress and a white shrug can sub in. You’ll also need long white gloves, white tights, and white heels as well as a blonde wig and a silver crown. Jewel on her gown is best recreated with a cosmetic button and some fabric glue though you can use a pin brooch as well if you want to reuse the dress for other cosplays.
For the brown and cream look you can use the same blonde wig while swapping your crown for a brown newsboy cap. A white shirt, brown vest, white thigh highs, and dark brown boots round out most of the clothes while short white gloves act as the only accessories and body tape helps keep the socks in place. The tricky part is her shorts. They are an uncommon style but you can recreate something close to it by blousing the legs of the pants pictured above.
Osana Najimi from Yandere Simulator
Osana Najimi (voiced by Brittany Lauda) is the first rival the player meets when they start the game Yandere Simulator. She serves as the game’s tutorial and a prickly one at that. Not that you’d know by looking at her style, however. She has a sweet sense of fashion that makes for an excellent cosplay.
Since the game takes place at school, most of Osana’s outfit is a standard school uniform. A white blouse with a blue sailor collar and red necktie, a blue pleated skirt, and black slip on shoes. Her personal style comes in with her long red hair pulled back in pigtails by red scrunches and decorated with a red ribbon bow, and with her pink polka dot socks.
Cornet Espoir from the Marl Kingdom Games
Cornet (voiced by Koaru Fujino in the original games and Sarah Thomas in the English dubs) is a sweet village girl with a gift for talking to puppets and making her wishes come true. She is the main character in the first Marl Kingdom game, “Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure”. By the time of the second game Cornet is Queen of Marl, leaving the adventures to her daughter.
Long before becoming queen of Marl, Cornet’s look matched her village girl life. A plaid bow in her hair matched her plaid skirt. A white turtleneck, blue vest, brown leggings, and tan boots finished off her look. She also accessorized with a simple necklace and earrings though you can leave those off or just add any you have at home. The finishing touch is a wavy honey blonde wig with bangs. Put it all together and you’re ready to have adventures of your own.
Seiko Shinohara from Corpse Party
Seiko Shinohara is your average sweet – if silly – school girl. It doesn’t save her from the darkening. But it does help her save the girl she loves from meeting the same heartbreaking fate. She is voiced by Miki Honda and Satomi Arai in the video games, and played by Youko Kita in the live-action movie, all of whom capture the sweet, sad nature of Seiko’s character.
For this cosplay I opted to go with Seiko’s appearance while alive. Unless you are going to a horror convention or an adults-only convention, it is probably best to opt for this version as Seiko’s appearance after her murder can be very upsetting for children and other convention attendees.
Seiko wears a pretty typical school uniform: White undershirt with a blue line across the chest (that you will have to paint on), tan v-neck pullover sweater, blue pleated skirt, and white shoes. Her uniform collar is blue with a yellow tie that she decorates with a brooch. She also has long brown hair which she wears with bangs and loops behind her ears. The style doesn’t exist on premade wigs so you will have to style the wig by hand.
As a final touch, pin your convention badge at your waist where Seiko wears her nametag!
