Marvel
X-23 from the X-Men Comics
X-23 is a genetic clone of the famous Canadian X-Man Wolverine, successfully created in a lab by scientist Dr. Sarah Kinney after twenty-two failed attempts. Her first-ever appearance in X-Men lore was the X-Men: Evolution TV series, but was welcomed into the comic book universe with the NYX comics, which explained her origin story in a grittier fashion than the children’s cartoon before it. X-23 then entered the Marvel-Fox cinematic universe in the form of a young Mexican child in James Mangold’s Logan, but her teenage/young adult persona from the comics can be just as fun to cosplay.
Kitty Pryde
Katherine “Kitty” Pryde, aka Shadowcat, is a member of the X-Men. Her powers include phasing and intangibility, which lets her simulate levitation. In the comics, she joins the Guardians of the Galaxy and actually takes over as Star Lord. In the Marauders series (not related to the Marauders in Harry Potter, but wouldn’t that be a cool crossover!), she’s currently known as Red Queen. The comics also highlight her Jewish heritage. And did you know her companion, a purple dragon named Lockheed, is actually a highly intelligent alien?
Vanessa Marianna-Fisk from Daredevil
Vanessa Marianna – later Vanessa Marianna-Fisk – is the lover-turned-wife of Daredevil’s antagonist, Wilson Fisk. Played by Ayelet Zurer she is the epitome of class and grace. From her position as an art dealer to her selectively minimal tastes she is a perfect match for Fisk is nearly every way though she lacks his more bloodthirsty tendencies.
Although Vanessa wears several different costumes they are all streamlined, minimalist, and well-fitted. She also wears white more and more often the longer she is with Fisk which was a deliberate choice by costuming. To that end, a white pencil dress and white heels are a good option for a Vanessa cosplay. A set of elegant gold earrings and a long gold necklace round out the accessories while her signature highlighted hair and some delicate makeup complete the look as a whole
Wong
Wong (Benedict Wong) is a character in Marvel’s Doctor Strange. He is a Master of the Mystic Arts as well as the new librarian who guards the ancient books in the library. He assists Stephen Strange in his studies, and helps him defeat Kaecilius and Dormamu to protect the New York Sanctum. In Infinity War, Wong stood with Doctor Strange and Iron Man when Thanos began to collect the Infinity Stones. However, when Ebony Maw captured Strange, he had to stay behind to protect the Sanctum. He got dusted in the snap, but he comes back through the portals in Endgame to help the Avengers in their all out battle.
Karen Page from Daredevil
Karen Paige (played by Deborah Ann Woll in both Daredevil and The Punisher) is a secretary-turned-sleuth that works with Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson. After nearly being convicted of a murder she didn’t commit she goes to work with the two men and ends up embroiled in a whole new Battle for New York that lands her in the direct path of the most dangerous people in the city. Not least of which are Daredevil and The Punisher. Smart and determined, though, Karen makes it through and does her best to keep her friends alive and together in the process.
Although Karen often ends up in dangerous situations she dresses professionally. She wears her long blonde wig down and prefers blouses with pencil skirts and stilettos. Though she usually wears little to no makeup she will dress up as the occasion calls for. And of course she is never without paper, pen, and her phone so she can keep track of the news and clues that come her way.
Ancient One from Doctor Strange
The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) is a main character in Marvel’s Doctor Strange. She educates Stephen Strange about the mystic arts. Before dying from a fatal wound, she advises Stephen how to defeat Dormamu and achieve his full potential as sorcerer supreme. In Avengers: Endgame, Bruce Banner encounters the Ancient One from five years ago, asking for the time stone. She explains how the Infinity Stones work, and after finding out Stephen gave the stone to Thanos, she gives the Eye of Agamotto to Bruce. Use the red lip liner to make her marking between your eyes.
Karl Mordo
Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) is an antagonist in Marvel’s Doctor Strange. In the comics, he is referred to as Baron Mordo, though a few different characters make up the movie’s portrayal. Once a sorcerer, he is a former member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts. At first, he is a student under the Ancient One and a mentor to Stephen. But when he realizes the truth about the Ancient One, Mordo cannot cope, which gives way to his reveal. In a post credit scene, Mordo confronts Pangborn and steals the mystical energy he uses to walk, which hints at his larger role as a villain in the upcoming sequel. Havok
Havok is a fictional character who appears in Marvel comics in the X-Men universe. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, his real name is Alexander Summers. If that surname sounds familiar, then yes, he is the older brother of Gabriel (Vulcan) and younger brother of Scott (Cyclops). Although he often clashes with Scott, as he resents his reputation in the X-Men. His powers include cosmic energy absorption and plasma discharge, which have been proven to exceed those of his two brothers. Paint the suit with the lines and circle in the middle; add white in the center of the circle for highlight. Cut the top of the face mask for the wig. Miss America (America Chavez)
Miss America, or America Chavez, is a superhero in the Marvel comics. Raised by her parents in the Utopian Parallel, she absorbed her powers from Demiurge’s magic. Her abilities include super strength, super speed, and flight. Another one of her abilities, star blast, projects a star with an incredible energy blast that was capable of wounding Captain Marvel! Miss America is on the current roster of the Young Avengers. Additionally, she makes history as the first Latina LGBTQ character to star in an ongoing series.
Wanda Maximoff from Avengers: Age of Ultron
Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen) is one of the most powerful women in the MCU. Long before she squared off against Thanos, though, she was an experiment for the Hydra scientist Baron von Strucker. She and her brother Quicksilver both gained abilities after agreeing to be von Strucker’s test subjects. Wanda can move things with her mind, create force fields, and, when angry, rip nearly anything apart. The color of her energy earned her the nickname Scarlet Witch, which is also reflected in the clothes she wears. She heavily prefers the colors red and black. She also tends to wear several layers of jewelry, never content simply with one ring or necklace. She generally wears her long auburn hair down but is sometimes known to pull it back in a high ponytail. Wanda also prefers dark eye makeup and red lips with otherwise subtle makeup. She is not the type to trust easily and tries not to use her powers in too obvious a fashion unless absolutely necessary.
